Cup's aren't what they used to be! Made a cup of Earl Grey earlier using a nice big china cup that used to belong to my Granddad and all of a sudden there was a slight popping noise and tea started leaking out from the side.
Honestly, what has happened to good old fashioned craftsmanship? It was only 30 years young, that cup had the rest of its' life in front of it. |

If it was 30 years old, surely it was 'good old fashioned craftsmanship'? None of my new cups have done this! |

Way over Yonder, that's where I'm bound |
It worked hard for 30 years and expected a decent pension and maybe to be called into service just to train up the new cups starting out. Maybe the odd nostalgic reunion drink. It was tired and you drove it to an early death.

Perhaps take a slightly buddhist approach and tell yourself that all new cups are "already broken" - because one day they will be and you just have the fortunate use of them until then....

Tis my own fault. I should have used my special pint mug for the tea. It was a cup too far for it. The old cup is being put out to rest and will receive a dignified burial with full tranny honours in the wheelie bin after dusk. Relatives in the cupboard above where the George Formby grill sit have been notified. |
