PMSL - I was laughing so much as my mate told me this on MSN that I missed the blooming "t"

Incidentally I think my friends was saying this in reference to a bottle of champagne but it sounded so.... sexy

if you are referring to once you start swinging there is no going back I would have to agree. The question is would you WANT to put the cork back in?

Well you can because you get the bottles with the firm corks not the soggy ones

"Oh Champagne, now you talking my language"

I did enjoy my Champers this weekend - and the cork never fits back in - so had a bottle to myself.

Any way expressions, never put the cork back in, think stems back to evil genies etc. However, I prefer about opening Pandora's box, just never yet found Pandora !!!

Admittedly you can sometimes get a soft cork with a good vintage wine, but the pleasure given from drinking it cannot be matched

I never had a soggy one either - perhaps it depends on the weather conditions inside...?

From what I understand, a fine wine, the cork may go a little soggy, but not all the way through, but the taste of the wine is exquisite.

Whereas, a young wine, with a firm fresh cork, often tastes like vinegar until it fully matures

Spot on, although 2 spoons/forks are better (handles into the bottle).

I don't know how it works, but it does.
