I don't put salt on any of my food just what it's seasoned with so if i crave fish n chips it's probably for the batter x

I was horrified last year on a day trip to Llandudno.

We got chips from a shop near the front and they were deep fried frozen ones

Not happy !

Felt robbed

Why do fish and chips taste best after you've been swimming?

I go over 40 miles for fish and chips at times ... as they are the best in Norfolk and worth it .. my last meal on earth would be fish and chips from there with loads of vinegar and salt.

Cardiff

Very few places do decent fish and chips. Bit of a disgrace seeing as the friers should know the effort our trawlers go to catch the fish.

I dont have S+V.

When I have curry sauce and chips I can never understand why they ask me if I want S+V on the curry sauce. Just taste buds I suppose

I think that i'm just craving salt when I look for fish n chips. We don't often use salt in cooking at home so i think its my body's way of seeking it out.

I always have loads of vinegar, little bit of salt on mine. So you could say I crave the vinegar.

Chips are the only thing I add salt to, the pepper pot on the other hand sees quite a bit of action

Love fish and chips when eaten outdoors, but the fumes from the vinegar when indoors make me feel sick. Bit of trivia - in the 18th century, houses used to "fumigated" by pouring vinegar onto shovels that had been heated in the fire. The vinegar steam was thought to kill mites.

I love chips and the batter but not the actual fish. I have a tiny bit of salt and loads of vinegar.

Hubby ends up eating my fish as well as his own.

this.

NEVER have vinegar put on your chips in the shop.

thats what makes them stick to the paper, then you end up with a plate full of chip scrapings on your plate.

Ooohhhh memories...

I used to work in Criccieth, North Wales, right next door to the best fish 'n chips shop in the world (now changed hands and very bland!). Their fish used to be fresh caught from Grimsby and utterly delicious.

I used to walk down to the beach and eat them sitting on the breakwater.... pure heaven - I so miss them..!!!

I like just a little crisp sea salt, and lashings of cider vinegar..!!!
