Im actually excited at the prospect of a new washing machine arriving tomorrow.Im on a low income and its taken me over six months to save up for it.What I want to ask is,do you save up for things you want to buy or do you just put them on a credit card and say sod it?

Well done!

I save up for things. Don't have a credit card any more. Ex hubby left me with a load of debt and it's taken me over 10 years to pay it all off. Had to sell the house we were in but I've bought a smaller one. It's not easy but I manage

Brighton - even Hove!

Save up. I value things more if it took time and effort to get them, and I look after them better too.

I buy second hand/reconditioned machines and next time I need a new one, knowing what I do now, I shall choose one that has short wash options as well as normal as it makes it cheaper then.

And I only buy second hand and for large items ie a car, would save up

Titz Towers, North Notts

Save up; it means more when you get it.

We have no credit cards or loans, if we want it we save and apart from the house that we have a mortgage on, everything else I'm proud to say we own and paid cash for

We fell into credit card and loan trap. Got into crippling debt. Worked our arses off fir five years to pay it all off now apart from mortgage we debt free, still got no spare cash tho ???

Still if we need something we now have to save for it. Which ain't easy but ultimately far more satisfying. So good on you for saving up and buying a new machine

I save a bit every pay day so that I have a rainy day fund. Something generally breaks every so often so I hopefully have enough to get a new one.
