girls says: sorry I don't like short guys
guy: aw well that's fine, and moves on.
girls try's chatting up a guy.
guy says: sorry I don't like woman who are over weight.
girl and her friends call the guy shallow and a jerk and every name under the sun.
if your short there is nothing you can do about it, you cant grow anymore.
if your over weight you can do something about that.

There are quit a few of these floating around the internet.

ya some people on here are looking for male models with 6 packs that are not the best looking and having the best bodies , but I am sure that they are guys other there too that are not much to look at and are asking for female models  |

I heard a joke once:

i would suggest in life in generaly overweight women are found to be more sexually attractive than overweight men.
maybe its the old thing about 'fat birds are more desperate so they put more into it when they get a bit', but i honestly have found, in all my life of being a larger than average bloke, big women will always get more attention than big blokes, no matter the situation. |

I don't agree with this comment at all. I have standards and morals and if a lady doesn't meet them then I wont lower them, for her, or for anyone else just for sex. This also goes for a lady who thinks she is higher and mightier than me, just because she has a vagina. People are all equal and no one is going to attempt to make me feel inferior, regardless of their sex or their physical attributes.
(I hope I have word this in a way that hasn't sounded offensive....I merely mean that a woman only holds the power if you let yourself be in the position of allowing that...I am not in anyway stating I, or any other guy holds the power either....just that it should not be about power or who holds it as we are all equal and have the same say).

I think women are genetically programmed to be attracted to men who look like they are capable of defending the female and providing protection
And men are genetically programmed to be attracted to women who look like they are better able to bear children
I'm willing to be shot down in flames over this one but we've been on the planet more than a couple of years and it's only fairly recently that we haven't had to constantly worry about being killed, eaten by animals, not able to continue the species.

It's not as simple as that. If I had the choice between 2 men who had similar personalities then it would come down to which face I found more attractive and how their weight was distributed overall. Chubby guy who is evenly thick all over will win out over a guy who's so muscular he looks like his skin is about to split. Don't get me wrong I like guys with good bodies but there are extremes on both end that are not attractive. I feel the same way about women's bodies. |

So many things about this thread make my head hurt I don't know where to start.
Mainly though I don't understand the point of the OP. Some people handle rejection ok and some don't. Some people are better at saying no thank you than others. There is no cause for making those observations some kind of men vs. women thing.
Not all men take rejection well. Not all women take rejection badly.
And why does whether it's something that could be changed matter?
Why should anyone be expected to change just because they were upset by the way in which they were turned down by a stranger?
Besides, who would be so crass as to say "I don't fancy short/fat men/women" when a simple "I'm flattered but sorry, I'm not interested" will suffice? |
