I'm appealing to the more technically minded amongst you for assistance.

Despite my PC working normally earlier today, I now cannot sign in to Google Chrome; an error message pops up with.... 'the application has failed to start because its side by side configuration is incorrect. Please see the application event log for more detsil'.

what is wrong and how do I fix it? Keep it simple guys as I am a total dunce when it comes to Computers!

"Turn it off and back on .... "

Already tried that. No luck! To answer another reply, I'm running Windows Vista.

The problem you are having usually relates to one of 2 things

1. It is a software conflict

2. You have a virus or some kind of malware on your PC

Have you installed any new programs on your PC or visited any site which asked you to install something on your PC recently?

You will recieve this message from plusnet if your internet connection has been/is dropping out.

Your browser is defaulting to the default plusnet settings.

I would suggest clearing your browsers cookies/cache and then restarting your router

I only ran malware and virus scans earlier today. I have not installed any new programmes nor visited any sites.

It might then just be a simple case of google chrome having a moment.

Have you tried reinstalling it?

Go Into chrome settings and you will see an option to delete user

It's not as bad as it sounds , all it does is reset chrome

Just click on delete user and then close chrome and reopen it and all should be good

Hope that helps
