Now i am in no shape or form a pool supporter, lining myself up for ridicule as im a Spurs fan.

But i feel, with it being 25years since Hillsborough it would be fitting if Liverpool lifted the title this year.

Justice for 96.

Never forgotten.

As the 96 were probably all Catholic's I wouldn't have thought they would appreciate any words of sentiment from swingers! Especially if they were devout in their convictions. Just a theory.

The players at United who dived didn't do it no where near as much as Suarez. He's got a reputation for it. Anyway look at Uniteds players who dive, young and Ronaldo being the main ones. Where are they now? Ronaldo doesn't do it anymore and youngs united career is over

How does it ruin football? I've been a Liverpool fan for nearly 20 years now, no I'm not from Liverpool (North east scotland), and have never lived there either, but they are my team. I go to games when I can, and I buy the merch etc. My son has been a liverpool fan since he could decide to watch games - he wants to be the next Steven Gerrard when he grows up!

Because it makes the already successful clubs even more successful, rather than putting in to your local team and helping them you are helping a team that doesn't need your help be even better.

Fans don't do it with country but seem to think its fine with a club.Im guessing you don't support England just because they are better than Scotland?

Well, I supported Liverpool even when they have been languishing in the league, so its not about success. I've moved around a lot, so am I supposed to change my allegiance with my postcode?

I don't actually bother with any other team, national or otherwise. And for the record, I was born in england, so if I did support a national team, would have a choice.

Honestly voyeur, a fluke. I was late in getting into football, being 20 when I learned about the game. Worked in a pub owned by a scottish footballing legend, but knew nothing about the game. However, the pub had a season long sweepstake game, and I got Liverpool, and by some mad fluke predicted it correctly for the season - won a day out to a game, loved the atmosphere, the people and the city. Been a Liverpool fan ever since. Maybe not conventional, but have been to as many games every year since that I can.

"This play acting by the Liverpool forward is bad if he tried this on a rugby pitch we would beat the crap out of him !!!

You rugger players are so manly. Men men menly men. Oh men your such big men. Look at us we're men. We beat people up cos we're men. Big men us.

Us netball men are by far the most manly. "

Maybe not manly but certainly clever.

As a Spurs fan I'd like Liverpool to win as a tribute to the 96 but also for Steven Gerrad cause he's a topbloke. Always liked his down to earth attitude.

Not now you are right However there was in the 40s and 50s when my Mum and Dad were on the terraces. It was never sectarian though. It just was split that way.

to be fair the guy he does have a point that there used to be a perception that the toffee's were catholic and Lfc protestant..

it wasn't that I recall anything like up in Glasgow by any stretch of the imagination but I do remember asking my Dad about it after I heard someone make that point and that was about 73 ish..

Not quite.

Liverpool still have to play Chelsea at Anfield.

If Liverpool win all our remaining games, Liverpool win the title.

If Chelsea win all their remaining games they win the title.

If Liverpool and Chelsea draw and Man City win all thier remaining games they are likely to win on goal difference. Liverpool could stop that as they are closer to City's goal difference and have scored more goals but it's unlikely we could close the goal difference gap sufficiently.

However as I've been believing for some time that my beloved Liverpool are destined to win the league this season the permutations are simply there to keep the Sky statisticians happy.

"Suarez to face a lengthy ban if they want to cut it out of the game and maybe deduct points off Liverpool.

Lol sour grapes

Was watching as a neutral today . Diving can potentially ruin another club. So ban it.

Same here!Man Utd have won titles off it for years and although Suarez is bad for it he is not the only one!!Dzeko would probably have got a prno in first half if he hadn't of dived.

The players at United who dived didn't do it no where near as much as Suarez. He's got a reputation for it. Anyway look at Uniteds players who dive, young and Ronaldo being the main ones. Where are they now? Ronaldo doesn't do it anymore and youngs united career is over what about Ashley young never no one near him and he goes down like a sniper toke him out from the stands

Suarez is worse, but I admit Ashely young had a problem too. However this is why his career is over at Old Trafford.

yellow cards for simulation by Man U players this season, any idea..?

4 which is more than any other club. By the way Liverpool have none

funny how the knockers choose to ignore facts when they don't suite.."

And as Suarez didn't dive in any event today the argument is futile. MOTD2 after analysing the supposed dive reached the conclusion that Suarez was clipped so it should have been a foul. Suarez's supposed reputation goes before him but in 2 seasons he's been booked once fir diving and in almost all the other supposed dive claims all were shown later to be fouls. Mind you when refs like Webb ignore blatent fouls in the box by the likes of Eto on Suarez at Stamford Bridge over Xmas who could blame him if he did make an occasional dive.

To be fair, I've heard many times over the years that one Liverpool team was Catholic team and one was the Protestant side.

It may well not be true, but there's no doubt that there that the perception out there - I've heard prominent Liverpudlians refer to it in the media.

If it really did exist, I would agree that the "divide" has been blurred down the years. I think the Celtic thing muddied the waters a lot. They sing YNWA too and I distinctly remember being on Cardiff station the day of the 1989 cup final and loads of Liverpool fans (from Wales!) had Celtic shirts on, perhaps because of Dalgleish? Also, they sing a version of Fields of Athenry.

Definitely, definitely heard the religious thing referred too over the years though, so I can understand the perception being out there.

No, it's not true. Liverpool came into being after Everton left Anfield following a row over rent - they had no money then too! To be fair, I think Everton evolved from a Methodist church Sunday school team (St Domingo's, I think - no doubt an Evertonian can confirm) which may help explain the perception but there was never any religious element to the founding of Liverpool. Of course, now it is a religion to many...

Being from a Roman Catholic school, religion played a large part in our school life. Pop Moran even tried to turn me off football at Anfield – Catholics were traditionally Everton supporters and players, Liverpool were the Protestant team. Pop honestly thought that being a Catholic I wouldn’t be happy at Anfield – Tommy Smith (ex Liverpool FC player and captain)

Being someone who's attended Anfield since 1971, I have occasionally heard religion mentioned but if it was ever there, it's only ever been a small part of what makes people support LFC or EFC.

Families are split in Liverpool into reds and blues and yet if they go to Church, they'll go to the same Church as one family.

I remember chants at every home game throughout the 70's and 80's of Celtic, Rangers, Celtic, Rangers followed by a long drawn out Liverpool. Either Celtic or Rangers would be shouted by different people stood side by side, I always thought it was because some people preferred one club or the other, I always chanted Celtic because as a boy and today they were my favorite Scottish team, but maybe there was some religious divide there, followed by 28,000 Kopites coming together as one behind our team.

For me though, I couldn't care less as to what religion someone is or for that matter what race they are either, if you wear The Famous Red Shirt, Your Liverpool and if you don't well for the 90 minutes of the match your the enemy who has to be beaten.

At yesterdays game there was a huge amount of respect between both sets of fans and it was very much appreciatted both the gestures of the Man City club in terms of the flowers before the game but especially the banners, there were at least 2 in the City end that could be seen from the Kop and the total silence for the full minute not only from the LFC fans but to a man, woman and child from the City fans too.

From the second the ref ended the silence the roar was deafening as every Liverpool fan played their part in not only cheering on our team but doing everything possible to intimidate City's excellent team.

Next up High Noon at Norwich on Easter Sunday and here's hoping Sunderland get two away wins in their next 2 fixtures at City & Chelsea, well one can hope while Liverpool make us dream....
