I have just been right royally beaten at backgammon by my 8 year old daughter again.

Yes I am a conpetitive dad.

Yes I am not happy.

Yes I am now considering we only play games I can win at

in the early days yes I let her win at everything as its good for the developement.

nowadays she has to learn that you cant win all the time only she does and I am trying my hardest to win lol

Maybe, just maybe as you have let her win so much. You have actually forgotten how to win yourself? Doesn't matter how hard you try. You basically don't know how to do it no more as you can't remember what you did before in order to win, lol

That's the stumbling block amongst children and parents. Their greatest joy and greatest sorrow is when they beat their parent for the first time, which is prolonged by the sudden bounce of guilt
