feeling sorry for myself as I've got a nice dose of shingles ...hopefully got it early this time so it wont spread more than the patch i have now, but Ive definitely got that run over by a steam roller feeling

big hug from me to you!! years ago i had them reocurantly ended up with specialist who basically told me to keep them till i was better!!
its horrible you have no energy your full body aches and you feel utter shit!
luckily been a good 14 years since i last had them!

i had them a few years ago too ..yuk! This time round tho im already on meds for nerve pain so i'm sure that'll help take the edge of it xx |

its not so much the shingles that got me it was the after pains there a name for it i cant remember (long day)and it was agony then a kinda depression set in the shingles association have a good website .
hope it gets better quick for you!! xx |

yep got the antivirals to try and stop it spreading more ...but i have severe neuropatic pain caused by something else so the meds i have for that should help with the pain you're referring to. Its a killer isnt it grrrr . Not what i need right now!

You may well be offered amitriptyline (trippers) as they are often prescribed as a treatment for shingles.
Be careful with them though..... |

try some ligncaine topical spray for the nerve pain ...it works for me ive had shingles 5 times in the last 15 years ..hope u got it in time before it really took hold........take care , |

ouch thats not good, this is my second in three years. I have lignocaine patches which i can use once the blisters have healed but the spray is a good idea. I knew there would be a perk to having knackered nerves elsewhere ..i'm already drugged up ! xx |
