I do it all the time, if I like something a woman is wearing etc I always say so unless she's up her own arse, don't like people like that! I do it to men as well, shoes being the main topic of conversation and reasons for them receiving compliments! I actually sent a message to a straight woman on here last night cos I spotted a picture of her perfectly round bum and had to tell her how lovely it is! Everyone needs compliments every so often, whether it's from people they know or strangers it's nice to have! |

Its tricky to compliment a lady in the street without seeming inappropriate, even if you try and set up with a polite introduction (rather than just 'woah you're well fit!!!'), you still end up sounding creepy. |

I think the polite introduction would make it creepy - as long as a compliment is given 'clean' with a smile I don't thing any female will object. |

I think a big part of it is the female in question herself, if she's particularly good-looking, chances are she gets lecherous comments from guys frequently, and probably decided you're just another one before you've so much as said hello - I walk a friends dog frequently, and have always found that not only do you see far, far fewer young women out and about than any other age group, when you do they're far less chatty or sociable. |

Yes, I've occasionally seen someone dressed with style and told them so. Not a regular thing and it's always a woman. Seen men too that i would like to compliment but that would seem like flirting so I don't.
There is a Chinese fella - quite young - who lives near me and every day he dresses in full 1940s attire, including hat, brolly and smart briefcase.
One day I will tell him he always looks fantastic. |

I regularly embarrass hubby by stopping in the middle of town to tell someone I love their bag/shoes etc and I've been known to start random conversations in the pub toilets by complimenting women on how they look . Most people just don't know how to accept compliments, and I find their reactions vary greatly between Liverpool where I'm from and Aberdeen where I now live. |

Ah, but that's why I specified 'clean'. As I mentioned before one of my dance chums is very free with compliments all the time, even as we wander around the west end at 3am going for coffee, but the 'vibe' he has is always one of enthusiasm not lecherousness, so 'Wow, you look great in that dress!' with a big grin is a freely given 'gift'.
Not all respond positively it's true, most just smile and carry on walking, occasionally a conversation ensues if everyone pauses for a moment.....But actually parts of London are really friendly at that time of the night anyway, everyone is pissed and happy, haha! |

Him. Did it once would never do it again. I was sitting in my van having some lunch next to a bus stop and I kid u not the most beautiful woman I have ever seen walked up to bus stop, ever car , truck or van that went by the guys and ladies where staring at her. She was only feet away from me as I was on petrol station forecourt.. our eyes met and I gave a half smile. She walked over asking me if I had the time please. I told her, as she turned to walk away, I suddenly said without think.
"Excuse me I hope you don't mind me saying, but I think you are one of the most beautiful women I have ever seen and seeing you has made my day"
Well she looked at me like I just said.
Your a fucking piece of shit nd you look like a prostitute.
Sneered and turned away tutting.
I was so embarrassed I drove away, I would never ever do it again.
In hindsight it may have come across as creepy, but it was only meant as a compliment and was no was trying to chat her up |

Did you get a 'I might have to turn at this rate' message back?!? Haha! I did, ended up chatting to her for ages, she sent me pics of her gorgeous face to match the perfect bum, asked for mine, complimented me as much as I did her and then asked if we could keep in touch...me thinks she's not as straight as she thinks she is and I want to keep in 'touch' for sure! Hehe! I'm waiting to say 'welcome to the dark side' to her! |
