"I prefer to call it the 'naughty gene'. It sometimes gets over reactive then lies dormant the other times. Some of us have the gene some folks don't "
That'd explain a lot |

Perhaps when I am 94 I'll have a leopard print encrusted zimmer frame and will be busy engaging nurses in cross talk conversations when they are trying to take blood, 'Don't worry, it's only a little prick.' 'Well nurse that's all very well for you to say, but I still insist on lube and a condom.' |

"Are you always a swinger? Even in mind if not physically"
Definitely...which is why I don't believe the whole 'only couples can be swingers' malarkey. My state of mind makes me a swinger, not my relationship status |

I agree with that. I can't describe it but some singles are definitely swingers. (And some aren't.) |

Sometimes the 'naughty gene' is let loose by someone and then the genie is out, Pandora's box opened and the toothpaste out of the tube....no going back |

It's a lifestyle isn't it? So, i'd say yeah because that 'swinging' state of mind stays with you i suppose.
Like above, those who say 'single men or women cannot be swingers' i think is a load of frog bollocks. So what if i'm single? That doesn't define it for me.
...however, i might say that those confident in their sexuality, those who are free from creating drama and aren't the jealous/clingy type, openminded in all aspects - i think they are swingers. And if their mentality is always like that, then they will always remain swingers (regardless of whether they meet or not).

I agree with you,I also don't class myself as a swinger but used the term as everyone understands the concept of it |

Having been promiscuous from an early age, I'd have to say yes...I was participating in group sex and the occasional gangbang in my teens - twas known as being a bit of a slapper back then
I like the swinger label...as labels go, it's fine for me |

Oh yeah there are plenty that aren't...and they're usually posting about how difficult it is to get a shag on here! There are also a fair few couples though that aren't really swingers but that's a whole other thread....
I personally fell into this lifestyle only a few years ago, and wasn't particularly promiscuous before (not that I was a good girl!) but having found it I now feel like I understand myself a bit better |

Great question .
We often think how hard it woukd be to give it up .
However , both of us have said we couldn't do it without each other , and firmly believe it .
I was 49 when we started , and didn't really know it existed !
She was 30 and was the same .
We have no plans to split up , so I guess we won't find out , and while we are together we have no desire to stop |

I think what defines me as a swinger, more than anything, is that fidelity isn't about sex for me. I don't really care who my partner has sex with (when I have one) as long as there are no lies between us.
As single I enjoy sharing friends and having friends I can enjoy for a while and know I don't have to have them stay overnight.

I've always enjoyed variety in my sex life, I like to be attracted and enjoy pursuing that attraction.
Most of all I like the honest way I conduct my sex life, I don't lie to myself or to others about what I desire.
If that is labelled 'swinging' in this culture at this time, then so be it. I'm probably not that different from loads of guys who've lived before me who had never heard the label 'swinging'. |

"I prefer to call it the 'naughty gene'. It sometimes gets over reactive then lies dormant the other times. Some of us have the gene some folks don't " Im with you on that. Once your own is noticed, you cant really sweep it under the carpet again, out of mind.
