once again the lib dem vote fails to materialise.the fact remains that when it comes to the crunch the ppl that say they want a complete change just cannot bring themselves to vote for cleggs band of losers.clegg will be a happy man though as a hung parliament is very good news for him and a potential disaster for britain. |

I look at it differently..... Clegg has lost out... however he will get what he has campaigned for and what the Lib Dem has fought for 100 years...
goodbye first past the post, hello electoral reform....
how is it fair that the party that comes 2nd with 29% of the vote ends up with 260 ish seats.... and the party who gets 23% of the vote only gets 60 ish!!!
the electoral system we have at the moment is horribly skewed....
get in the system they have in london for the mayor... then I think you have a deal.... |

It looks like many liberal supporters panicked and still voted labour not wanting DC. |

Analyse the figures. Labour lost 88 seats and the Tories gained 95, so Labour supporters turned on Brown with a vengeance but didn't trust Clegg enough to risk Brown getting a majority.
Clegg lost 13 seats he already held and gained 6 he didn't, so the Lib vote was waivering all over the UK. I'm convinced many people get to the ballot box, have their pen in one position then at the last minute make a snap decision and move the pen to another candidate. |

If you meant PR then the numbers are as follows:
Con: 36%
Lab: 29%
Lib: 23%
Oth: 12%
Which would have resulted in the following seat split:
Con: 234
Lab: 188
Lib: 150
Oth: 78
Still a Hung Parliament. |

I'm unfamiliar with that, can you elaborate please Fab."
sure.... in london they use something called the Single Transferable Vote (STV)so you vote in order of your preference......
the one with the lowest votes gets knocked out and the votes get redistrubuted to there next preference and so on and so on till one person gets at least 50% of the vote.... |
