I don't see why that should be the case as I have seen men saying Dom looking for sub so is this just a male thing?

Try a name search just using 'Mistress', that should give you a good starting point at least.

I am submissive and have been lucky enough to find a fabulous Mistress on here, albeit one who does not advertise the fact on her profile, so good luck and keep trying.
