Out for a treat of breakfast I am trying a local pub to see if its any good all you can eat thing.
total cost including drink is £5.54.
I hand over £10 to the girl on the till.
she gives me £5.54 change. I ask how much it was again and she says £5.54. I say with my hand out that the change is wrong and that I handed over a tenner.
she apologises, opens the till again and gives me another £2!!

I always have to tell people if they give me too much change because I don't want them to get into trouble.....strangely though I don't tell them if I get too little change for the same reason  |

Give her the correct amount back and laugh it off with her by suggesting she must have had a wild Saturday night.
If I enjoyed the breakfast chances are I'd use them again, I wouldn't want them to stop the service because they thought it wasn't viable. |

I like to keep my world balanced - if I've had £5.54 worth of food and drink then I expect to have £5.54 less in my wallet/bank account; so I'd give it back. |

"We all get mixed up from time to time so I think I'd tell her or her till won't be right. "
as a till worker myself can cause disciplinary action if ur till is short by any amount so £3 can be accused of taking money from till. So always better to be honest than to take money from her |

id teach her how to count it back properly, i.e.
1 p to make 5.55, 5p to make 5.60, and 40p to make 6 quid then pound coins for 7, 8, 9 and 10 quid.
that's how i was til trained 20 years ago and you make far less mistakes doing it that way. |

I would make sure she got the money back as I would be concerned her till would be short and that would cause her trouble. I do think she would be in trouble anyway as it sounds as she cant do basic maths !!!! |

Hear hear: that might come out of her wages. She may not be thick, just stessed/harassed or maybe fancied you and was distracted ! She made a common mistake. Ive done it from time to time. She's given you the cost and put the change in the till ...poor lass. Absobloodylutely give it back!   |

That happened to us once, the girl give us a fiver too much we said you've given us the wrong change she apologised and give us another fiver, it had been a chain we'd of kept it but it was just a local pub so we gave it back |

I actually told her it was still wrong and told her how much change I should have as I didnt want her till to be wrong ss I know she would get in to trouble for it.
I did ask her of she wanted to see me flex my pecs or comb my haor really fast but it took all her concentration to count the change out so I didnt get a response to that lol  |

I'd grab her left harm, raise it and then forcefully pull it down in the hope that her eyes would spin round and end on 2 pineapples, where upon a shower of loose change would emerge from somewhere. |
