Sheffield

I've always had a yearning to live on Dragon Parade but today I've found a street that is just as irresistible: Wellyhole Lane!

What are your fave street names?

There's one near me called Slash Lane.

Another called Cemetery Lane that has a dead end sign sign on it, always makes me chuckle...

I went to a meet on Cock Road, a lot of years ago But I was working in Bristol at the time.

When they gave me the address I felt sure they were having a laugh

Cracking meet though

I must admit that when I posted this thread I did have a sneaking suspicion that my innocent joy in funny street names would soon descend into rude street names.

But it all happened even quicker than I expected!

You lot have got filthy minds!

"whip ma whop ma gate" in York.

It made me chuckle when I saw it. I'd love my street to be called that...

Ahhh you found Wellihole! Its an awesome name isn't it!

Corona Avenue is one of the ones locally I like. There's also an irony to the name of the road I live on in comparison to my sexual preferences, much to lots of people's amusement!

There's one in Leicester too (Thurmaston), my grandmother is buried there. She'd have got a laugh out of it.

Can't think of road names off hand but there are a couple of place names locally that make me smirk. Cockayne hatley. Makes me think of cock, or a spanish person saying cocaine. The other is Wendy-cum-shingay. Anyone else find it amusing?!
