Bonjovi muppet

So, John Bonjovi states in his song 'Social disease' from the album 'Slippery when wet'

That "You CAN'T start a fire without a spark" The soft rock buffoon then follows this with the line "Which is something that I guarantee"

Well Mr Bonjovi, tell that to the fire investigation team employed by my insurance company, after your irresponsible claim, led to me burning my f@#*ing house down!

The investigation team believe that my washing, that had been happily drying on my electric fire, suddenly burst into flames, after smoldering for a good hour.

My finest polyester then ignited my sofa, which quickly turned into a fire ball minutes before the whole house became an inferno.

But at NO point in this chain of events was there a single SPARK!

So my question to you is, "Can I sue this long haired Muppet?"

Rock stars, should not be able to go around spouting factually incorrect information, which could have serious consequences, without being held accountable!

(I do have his statement, including his guarantee in text, as it is printed on the album sleeve. This I believe should help my case against him)

I think you should give it a try.

After all, a guy in The U.S. sued -AND WON !!! - a motorhome manufacturer after he crashed his vehicle after getting out of the drivers seat, going in the back of the vehicle and making himself a brew and a butty whilst travelling down the highway.

The manufacturer had not thought that anyone would be stupid enough to put the vehicle on cruise control, get up and start preparing lunch whilst the vehicle was in motion and had therefore not provided any warnings in the handbook for owners not to do so.

That omission cost them millions and their vehicle handbooks now warn against such actions

I think if you are taking fire safety advice from singers your case isn't that strong

That is true but he could go for a class action if he can get together more numpties to help sue. Bonjovi and Springsteen could be co defendents! They could be forced to write a song withdrawing the statement!

I was told by a guy from the Ford MC that, in the 1960s, the Transit van driver's manual for some African countries used to say "to alter the direction of the vehicle it is necessary to turn the steering wheel." Apparently some had not known this.

Well I'm pleased you find it so amusing, young lady!!

Meanwhile, I'm sat in a Travel lodge, crying tears of despair into my bowl of crunchy nut, while contemplating my course of action!

And drinks bottles that say open by hand in the lids because some amorous couples tried opening them with other body parts and injured themselves because it didn't say not to

I'd forgotten about this one! At least Mr Springsteen stopped short of personally guaranteeing his nonsense claim (possibly foreseeing the potential legal ramifications)

It is ironic too that Bonjovi's album, titled "Slippery when wet" indicates that he may give good safety advice!

Why not?!

I think ACDC are safe though, because as far as I am aware, no one has has been able to report back anything to the contrary.

Just got my insurance payout, and Bonjovi and Springsteen have been ordered by the court to rewrite their respective songs, clearly stating that "In some circumstances, a fire can start without a spark"

Result!!

(Yes, ok I am that sad, and bored, I've searched out one of my own old posts)

Hahaha love it!

Though if you really have lost your home to a fire I'm very sorry

Based on the title of this thread I figured Bon jovi was being slagged off so I was expecting to have to defend them, being a big fan but you definately seem to have a good case against them, one that I couldnt possibly dispute

As much as I dislike the rock poodle and is MOR music, he does have a very strong case.

That moment of combustion, the millisecond where your garment went from 'quite warm' to 'raging inferno'- there will have been a spark, a single burning particle to start the chain reaction, however brief that may be.

Case for the defence rests m'lud
