You'll find the lovely Ruby has with her home made ribbon as per a different thread she posted on here.

Ruby's youngest daughter who is 15 today is severely autistic and she continues to provide new challenges and rewards for her Mum on a daily basis. You never know today might even be the day that she finally gets to say Mum.

My thoughts are there supporting all whom are affected by autism at whatever level.

Best wishes

Jet

If you have Photoshop, it's easy enough...

All you need to do is right-click on your image file and select "Open With", then choose Photoshop from the list of applications.

Once opened, go to "Image" (in the top bar) and select "Adjustments", then "Hue/Saturation" in the drop-down menu.

This will open a box in which you can alter all sorts of colour aspects of an image.

In the lower right, there is a checkbox marked "Colorize" - click on that and then slide the "Hue" slider until your image turns blue (usually somewhere around the 200 value).

You can then use the "Saturation" and "Lightness" sliders to raise or lower the tone, so to speak.

Click "OK" and you're done.

Thanks for the great response to this thread guys. Life with autism has its challenges in all areas. Not just with the person suffering the illness but for all in the family who have to live with it too

Hopefully, days like today may just help those who don't live through it or those who don't have any knowledge of the illness gain some knowledge by asking the questions they want to.

happy to answer anyone's questions, if I can. Xx

Brighton - even Hove!

My photo isn't blue, it's more red but feel frwe to imagine it to be blue.

This is a worthwhile cause although I wouldn't classify it as an illness as it's more a disorder or condition.

You are right Steve it is not an illness, its a misfunction of the brain therefore a disability for the children/adults that have Autism.

As you know I have had 13 years of facing it full on this is why I promote awareness when ever I can.

"LIGHT IT UP BLUE" that's what we need to do and shout about it. Ruby

apologies, my son's understanding of his condition is to explain it in terms of illness in his brain and that helps him. I'm too used to describing it that way now.

Good to see members taking the time to give their profile avatar a blue 'tint'.

I've been wearing blue, but haven't seen many people wearing blue into Birmingham today.

My boy doesn't have autism but does gave significant special needs and ADHD. We explained his brain is wired slightly differently as a way of explaining, would want to call it an illness but that does work really well for lonely girls situation.
