How did you eventually stop the car?
The cruise on my old BMW cut out the second I tapped the break.
That must have been fun parking at 50 when you got home!

had to knock it into neutral and stop the engine, restarted it and it was ok, took it straight to the dealer and they said it was an electrical fault that they rectified and said they had the same with another car in the past.

Ah! Say no more!!
Stopped having French cars after a brake light went on one of those fat arsed Meganes - and had to get it changed at the dealer as you couldn't do it yourself!
Odd - since it's illegal in France not to carry spare bulbs. Pretty friggin pointless if one goes at 1am when the dealers are shut!
