I will start things of with the welsh language! Why the hell did that not die out years ago, I remember reading that only something like 20% of welsh people can speak the language, so why the f**k would anyone bother to learn it |

Welsh happens to be my first language so hardly pointless at all. I find it incredibly rude for people who don't even live in Wales to be as bledi rude as you about something that doesn't concern you!!!!! And as for only 20% of us able to speak it, what utter rubbish. Get your facts right before you spout such nonsense! |

Money is hopeless. You need it to survive. The wealthy and greedy just stockpile it and dont know how to get off that hamster wheel, thinking that money is god. Capitalism is becoming more and more exclusive, so many people can't even get a job and therefore don't get the bare essentials, let alone a little bit out of life, thinking that "if only I came into some money!"
I hate money. It gives people the illusion that they have the choice to sell their souls. It gives others the belief that they can buy people. And they really can, because some people are weak in desperate times and their bodies become just another commodity.

I think if I really thought deeply, it would be a form of brainwashing u into thinking the tie means some significant power/influence...and as I say, it is a males attire...and can only lead people to believe that the male should dominate in business. |

Money is just a tool for bartering, otherwise I'd have to quit my job as I can't trade a hydraulic fitting for bread.
What would you use instead as anything you use is just money.
If you want any kind of society more complicated than the most basic tribal system you need money so people can actually use their work to get what they need |

I beg your pardon, I didnt want to write an essay so I didnt specify my beliefs on that part. Of course we can't have any other system other than valid currency, especially at the stage and volume that society is now at.
I'm simply stating that where we are now and especially in terms of population, money is actually becoming more useless to both the wealthy and the poor.
The more you have, the less you need. The less you have, you can never have enough. Does that strike you as sensible? |

I am English and I live in a small rural town in a beautiful part of Wales, I do not speak Welsh but understand a little, the area I live in is predominantly Welsh speaking.
Both of my children were born here and inspite of it being an English speaking household I took my children to Ti a Fi (Welsh mum and baby group) then they went to Ysgol Mythrin (Welsh pre school, sorry about the spelling guys )
They then attended primary as first language Welsh speaking children and were taught exclusively in Welsh till they were 7 years old.
Both are well educated, both work and both use their dual language every day of their lives.
I am very proud of them and know they have a great future in front of them in a country with a great future, even though they still talk about me in a language I don't understand the little buggers

Now my north Whalian friend Alex claims Welsh is dead easy as it sounds how it's written. Honestly??, all I thought on trying just now was, can I have a vowel please?"
erm, i think alex might be pulling your leg a bit. northern Welsh is slightly different from southern welsh, which I'm more familiar with.... but sounding like its written? *shakez head* the letter 'f' sounds like the letter 'v'. 'ff' gives the sift sound of the English 'f'. 'dd' sounds more like 'th'. and 'll' is a sound i really can't do properly without a cold. as I'm not a native speaker. and combinations like 'au' killme on certain wwords, lol. i tried to learn welsh. i worked for the nhs and was given free lessons but ended up so very confused. i picked up a little from conversation but 'na dysgu cymraig', I'm afraid. can any of the welsh speakers kindly remind me.... does 'rhyw' mean what i seem to think i remember it means' |

My boss is Welsh and she speaks it still. Some of the things are so funny when she tells us rhe English translation. My dad's family are Welsh too back a few generations so why should it die out? You could say that about all languages in the future |

"Money is hopeless.
Have you just read The ragged trousered philanthropist

And as someone else has pointed out about the English GCSE being a waste, maybe the OP should have tried to learn Welsh
Wow legs wish I knew what you said. Heritage is an important part of this nation and keeping the language alive is just as important.
There you go PP. Ohhh I managed to be technical and copy that from my original post "
Clever you and thank you x |

I really wish I could speak Welsh. I done GCSE/A Levels in Welsh, and picked up a large grasp of it, but never really used it and only really know the basics now. It is such a sexy language IMO. I think the further West and further North you go, the more people speak it. |

personalised number plates for cars!
It's a piece of meaningless plastic that some people spend thousands of pounds on!
Before anyone responds with 'oh mine only cost £200' well in my opinion that's still about £200 too much.
I just don't get it.

not watched normal tv for a year and I can say with absolute conviction I feel a hell of a lot better for it.
I only watch what I want, when I want. |

Not going to get in to a BBC pro/anti rant but only bollocks TV? What constitutes TV that isn't bollocks?
It has probably the best wildlife documentaries in the world. Still commissions great comedy, science and history programming. Admittedly it might do less of the frivolous shit that other channels show (not that's there's anything wrong with frivolous!) but I would miss the BBC massively, even now when I have about 500 channels. |

"Lolly pop people on a zebra or pelican crossing"
Us lollipop people are put there by our local council. I work on a busy road, no pelicans or zebras for me |

The point of personalised stuff is that it means something to the person that owns it lol |

That's what I don't get, why does it matter? Why does that make anyone happy? It's just a piece of plastic. It seems like such a waste of money. |
