they would keep your head in the fridge though, better than botox for fending off the wrinkles.

Homosexuality is outlawed in 82 of the worlds 197 countries.

That is 42% of the world.

Uganda is not well renowned for being forward thinking or for choosing liberal leaders, but what is going on there at the moment is merely a distraction in terms of the religious, cultural and institutionalised homophobia that is going on right now across the globe.

It is because their steps are so radical by western standards that it makes the news - leaving other countries under the radar.

If the plight of gays in Uganda highlights the fate of millions of others who are persecuted daily in front of eyes that look the other way then their sacrifices will hopefully be to the greater good.

Hi I mrs f - I do a lot of charity work and Uganda is one of the places that has stolen a piece of my heart. It may be corrupt and difficult to understand as an outsider but I get the upmost job satisfaction from raising money and spending my time out there it's a beautiful country

but would you get as much satisfaction if you returned to your charity work as a gay man ?

Would you stand by and watch a fellow charity worker be effectively murdered for simply sleeping with someone of the same sex ?

Would you stand by and watch his friends and family jailed for not dobbing him in ?

Yet that is what is happening ...

See to me, that is so sad. That Uganda will be remembered for stuff like this and for Idi Amin rather than for being a beautiful country with wonderfully diverse wildlife that is filled with good people trying to make things just that little bit better
