I've been watching this all week... Now not a lot makes me cringe and my toes curl but the torture and death sentences inflicted upon people was so barbaric !

I'm shocked!!

The Devil's Lair

Got my hopes there. Expected something along the lines of "What I would do to be their woman for the night"

Fareham

It can be hard viewing at times but it's depicting how things were - compelling though.

Thanks for the heads up. I can just about stomach the blood and gore in Game of Thrones. I'm steering well clear of the Tudors. Weren't we barbarians back then

I watched a TV programme once about the Tudors and they said we would find it hard to understand what they were saying as language and intonation and dialect had changed so much. The example they gave was 'hallowed be thy name' which they thought the Tudors would have said as 'hallod be tha nom'.

Is this thread about the highly romanticised, raunchy series The Tudors with Jonathan Rhys Meyers?

The Tudors was a brilliant series! I actually cried when Catherine Howard was executed, she was only a kid really. What the series was good at showing you how it wasn't all Henry's fault. Yes, he was a pig, but was equally stuck and in forever in danger from France, Spain and Rome.
