Why in earth do people on here lie so much about their age. Always making themselves out to be younger than what they really are.
Then when you finally meet. OMG how old are you.
To to avoid disappointment and rejection why not tell the truth?

loads of reasons and I don't understand any of them. It's always really obvious when you meet them and if not immediately they give the game away in conversation. |

Totally agree, ours are 100% genuine. Met a couple once in a club who were clearly alot older than the profile ages, reckoned it was so their kids couldn't spot them. We thought the numerous photos were more of a give away than there ages but hey ho. |

I would guess that people do it to slip in below general age restrictions - 40 and 45 seem popular 'caps' and whilst it can be forgiven if they shave a year or two (or 5 even) if they look passable at the lower age, but 10 years plus is taking the proverbial.
I reserve the right to change my mind (and my stated age) early next year (50!!! how did that happen??) |

51 and proud - shame some people stop at people 49 and 50 but many lovely ladies out there happy to see the old girl haha - we dont look our ages but dont hide it - no point |

We've met a couple who admitted to being older then there profile suggested but didn't say there real age. We never played due to them being a little reserved. Thought we were shy ha ha but we would have met them any way due to there pics not there age. Obviously some people have age restrictions on there profile so can only assume that is the reason so they can message people while not being restricted by age ha ha lol
If we are too old then so what we not bothered. Definitely won't lie about our age ha ha |

my age is correct, 59 and will be 60 May. not sure about females, but male lie about age, easier to get meets if below a certain age, chat with female from here, she was annoyed a few weeks back, had meet only to find male was a lot younger than his profile. had spoken on phone so was not aware, his answer was , done well so far lying, as once chatting put female at ease, had verifications. so must work for some |

I'm 26, 27 in October. constantly id'd and told I look 19 ish  Compliment sometimes but it's annoying in other ways. Have been asked to prove my age by potential meets and then told my passport was a fake! Weird! Nothing fake bout me except hair colour, couple of tattoos and some piercings lol....Age id never lie about |

I started out looking a lot older than my age. When I was in my late teens, I could pass for late twenties. Now I've no idea how I look, so don't know if others think I'm honest or not about my age. When it comes to others, I also find it hard to judge. I've seen some sexy people who might qualifybfor a bus pass and others half their age who look ropey enough to be counting down to one! |

Ive always looked young for my age.When I was in my early 40's a lady I knew would not believe my age saying she thought I was early 30's. There is therefore, a temptation to knock a few years off but so far I have resisted.
With the 50's looming that resolve will be tested. |

I am actually only 21. My paper round was hard and I worked from an early age. Add to that too many nights on the beer and smoking and I ended up looking older.
I put 40 on my profile just cause thats the age I look and don't want to surprise anyone at a social  |

I sometimes wish I had put a few years younger as I'm now out of some peoples age range and I could easily get away with it but I'm far too lazy for dishonesty. |

If you're serious about meeting, why lie about anything as you'll more than likely be found out? I never met smokers or married guys and made it clear on my profile but still got lied to and had my time wasted, they wasted their own time too but that's life on here I guess. |

You do come out with some nonsense sometimes. This one is from the same source as the ratio of men to women on fab is 1:400.
Oh, and I've met at least 2 men from here who lied about their age. One was 10+ years older than he claimed and looked it.
I've not lied about my age since renting 18 certificate videos as a kid. And I've never claimed to be younger than I am. |

I can understand why people do it. When you check out a nice profile and then see you are 1 year out of the age range I can see why people might be tempted to change age in the hope of getting a meet. Ultimately I doubt it makes a blind bit of difference but all part of the game I guess. |
