pain killers and moodiness

I have to take some pretty hefty painkillers every so often..yesterday and today being one of those days.. yet today I find myself quick to temper despite being in a really good mood..

I know as soon as I stop taking them I'll feel this red mist lift and will hopefully not have bitten anyone's head off..

It's codeine based tablets .. so does it cause this in others and have you found a cure... As it's for mostly women's things I guess the time of month pays a small part of it but this happens to me at any time I take them... I also get tearful very easy xx

Thanks... From little miss grumpy pants lol

Can't say I've noticed anything from Codeine.

Tramadol can be fun though.

Meath

Ibuprofen is better for time of the moth things.. (If I got that, that's what it's for)

It's an anti inflamitary (sp) and reduces the craps.

Google it..

The problem is time of the month makes my joint pains worse... So have to take codeine or be in stupid amounts of pain...

And cheers Lee

Changes in mood caused by Codeine are one of the more uncommon side effects of the drug, have you talked to your GP about it, if not you really should report it. There is probably something else he/she can prescribe which may suit you better.

Hope you feel better soon.

I am on Tramadol and 50/500 AND antidepressants (for pain (duloxatine). I just live in the 'twilight zone' lol I have visual and audio hallucinations every day (I know they are so not a prob).

Oh and I found out recently that the duloxatine in lower doses is used for premature ejaculation!! So the mere fact that I can get it up at all is a bloody miracle!!

I've reported it and for various reasons codeine is my best option x
