I'm a good home cook but I also bake, make sweets and pickle and preserve.
I lack the patience for the finesse that a lot of fine dining needs but you'd never go hungry around me and it's rare anything fails.
And I can cook basmati rice. |

Sam is a great cook and everything always turns out nice and looks good.
I can cook, but not as good.
But I think its because he has more time. Like, he will ditch the housework and everything to spend three hours making food. Whereas I want to spend at most an hour in there. |

I cook for a living and my other half used to be a chef in the oldest restaurant in London. Amongst a few more...
But we rarely push the boat out at home. We have to be in the mood to cook for pleasure. Its a shame really...
I'd love to be able to bake well. I can bake but not fantastically well...
I love old school baking like my nanans.. |

You got a knife and pan you can take parts of what he does and apply it to everyday cooking. |

Next time you cook asparagus, gently poach it in olive oil or butter, put a lid on it and let it steam in its own essence. You'll never boil it again. Simple food science you can apply at home. |
