My son finds it hard to differentiate between lower case b and d. Which causes him to get his spellings wrong. Is there an easier way to drum it into him other than parrot fashion? |

My son can form letters perfectly if they was meant to be backwards. Not just b's and d's but most letters. He can't get the hang of it no matter what he tries. He is in year 1 and has moved school during reception and both schools taught handwriting differently which didnt help |

"If he consistently substitutes mirror pairs like b/d or writes the correct letter but mirror imaged then this could be a sign of dyslexia and should be discussed with the school SENCO.
"
My daughter does this and I discussed it with her teacher and she said most of the children in her class do it and it's normal. I was concerned as you mentioned it could be a sign of dyslexia, which her dad struggled with, or can be because of a severe astigmatism. I have noticed she is also writing her 'h' the wrong way round too |

He will figure it out on his own slowly but surely..it's this period of discovery where they learn the most and that which gets their brain ticking. Let him think for himself and discover it on his own.
...good luck
