Somewhere in North Norfolk

On the back of my post saying I miss old cinemas with swishy red velvet curtains and ice cream sellers in the interval, I'm thinking of other things I've not seen in a while.

Whatever happened to teasmades? My gran and grandad had one beside their bed and used it every day.

Nearly everyone I know still drinks tea almost exclusively. I'm something of an oddity (surely not!) as a coffee drinker.

Plus you have to get out of bed for the posh coffee maker, unless you have a butler

a butler, what a lovely idea I'm the only sibling in my family who drinks tea. I wouldn't trust a teasmade to make mine how I like it

Still use one of these! Decent tea-strainers are quite hard to find though.

aaaaw ...can smell it now we had one that traveled about the estate when we were kids...you could smell it for miles. Think a bag was around a shilling.

A chip van still comes round my way. I haven't seen a Mr Fritzy hot dog van in years though.

There were designed with an alarm clock built in and when you set the alarm and filled it with water and tea bags your tea would be ready when the alarm went off.

They made some noise...bubbling and gurgling as it would boil, then you'd get a pppssssssshhhhh as it steamed...then a gentle trickle of the tea dribbling into the cup that you could only get a pinky in!!!!!....nice cuppa tho'
