Isn't Navy dark? I like Navy pinstripe. Go to Marks and Sparks and see their Italian Collection.

I normally do Grey or Navy for weddings, plain white shirt if i have to wear a tie, stripy shirt if I'm not. Don't spend to much on one if you don't normally wear them though. |

I would go for a mid blue plain suit, straight front narrow leg trousers a white shirt and good quality light(ish) brown brogues.
Well fitted plain black suit could work but greys and pinstripes remind me too much of work
