"It's hard to be disillusioned by this site. Even those who are socially awkward and inept would get more random offers offline, so it's not to be taken seriously.
If only there wasn't such pressure from "established" members for a guy to get a list of veris as long as his arm (and then he's a slut rather than a stalker).
Of course, if I cared, I'd be taking it seriously, so LOL.
It's more a matter of 19 out of 20 women being total twat baskets when I'm being friendly and considerate and sending them a message that doesn't make me look vapid or desperate, but rather gives them the opportunity to say thank you or/and no thank you, or to see where it goes. Instead, they go for the tried and tested "silence speaks louder than words!"
But more or less, if you don't play and win at the popularity game here, or join the unpopular cliques that hates the popular cliques, you're an outsider, which is fine by me.
Since I came back, I've even stayed away from the forums a lot. I just drop my say, read what others say and leave it at that.

I asked for well-verified for a couple of very good reasons which I will not go into here. Once someone reads that then unless they are well-verified it is pointless messaging me.
The 'twat baskets' you so politely refer to may well be fed up with the kind of inane, drop your knickers now, I won't bother reading your profile, types which many complain about.
As for lack of responses - that's the point! People will have fewer of those if they actually read profiles and then, once read, actually thought 'Am I likely to be what they are looking for?' before sending a message.
This thread, by the way, is about 'people' not just men, although my messages are from men simply because that is what I am looking for and couples and women cannot message me.
If I read a profile and there is something in there which tells me I am not the kind of person they are looking for, I do not chance my arm and message anyway. Why would I waste my time?
As for the idea of 'cliques' and 'established' members. I am not the cliquey type. I plough my own furrow - always have. Anyone does not like that, then that is in the realm of 'not my problem'. |
