so i've just had 4 days in a row now that 4 different people have chatted to me and wasted my time with arranging meets etc, please people share your tips and tricks on how to spot them from afar so the genuine people here don't waste time with them.

Maybe i'm too nice and trusting.

Did they stand you up in a pub or something? What do you call a time waster? Maybe you're coming across too needy or something, not sure why anyone would do that... It happened to me a few times as well on a previous profile, not this one though thankfully xx

when i say time waster a person who arranges something like a meet then doesn't turn up, or says they can't do it last minute etc

I would say its far from time wasters more something you are doing to put them off. you have to accept just because peopel chat with you then there is no guarantee on meeting far from it if you expect people to commit to meeting in a 34 hour period then you are going to fail epically with many.

Four in four days?

That's either epically bad luck - or possibly very poor selection criteria!

"Did you ring her for a quick chat first?"

Would have been my question.

A number is no use unless there's been verbal confirmation that 'Jenny' isn't actually 'Kenny' !

The I'd suggest reporting them as 'arranged a meet - did not show'.

We're they verified and a long standing member - or a newbie with no track record?

ok 4 in 4 days is bad luck, but if one of those had to cancel last minute for some reason it doesn't always mean they're a timewaster. it's possible that was genuine. i have a young munchkin and have had to reschedule meets due to childcare falling through once and getting a phone call from the school twice.... once as i was leaving got the meet! it can't be helped, sometimes. but good luck in future.

youve only been on a couple of weeks and to have 4 possible meets in that time is pretty darn good if i go by the single men comments here - take a bit more time to get to know who you are meeting - its not a sex guaranteed site yanno

to you they appear as time wasting as your obviously disappointed. but they may have genuine reasons and if im honest if 4 diffent people backed out in 4 days id take a look at yourself as it may just be something about you thats putting them off. you call it time wasting they may consider it a lucky escape...different perspective thats all

Check how long they been in the site, any verifications may help you decide if they have any at all lol

" i had her number so i thought i could trust her."

Was it actually her number?...did you speak to her or communicate in any way?...

But you've been on the site 2 weeks and 4 potential meets, I would be questioning if that's true and/or the meets were legitimate...to be fair.

It took me a month to get my first meet.

$0.02

Four people in four days? Perhaps change your selection process. Invest in getting to know someone via messages, phone conversations then no pressure social meet?

A woman agreeing to meet after exchanging a couple of messages is rare I'd wager. So think with the head above your waist: better luck next time!
