is there something patronising about these millionaire celebs talking over the sad vt clips asking us the general public for money.

i know alot of them do charity work but how many have actually pledged and put there hand in there pocket tonight like they are asking us too i wonder? aznd i dont mean just fronting the show for free or being on it but actually donating i just wonder maybe they all do ??

i think you miss the point. it isn't the responsibility of just the wealthy to do their bit.

They dont have disclose how much they donate just as individual members of the public dont have to either.

i bet if one of them did shout about how much they donated they would get slated for doing that as well....jealousy is an ugly trait of humanity

i know they don't have to i was just wondering, and at the same time why do we have to have these people doing the video links. why not just normal members of the public getting sent to do stuff, it may be cynical of me but whose got an album coming out of wanting to upgrade there profile a bit hmmmmm

of course its about PR, thought that was a well known fact?

people need things to part from their hard earned and celebs making prats of themselves or crying and showing their human side is a winning combination.....£30m so far tonight shows this.

Very rarely does anyone in this world do something purely for the good of doing it.

I have donated tonight, to help those in need but also to make me feel good. If a celebrity raises their profile and encourages someone to donate then were all winners.

The videos get me everytime but are needed i think. We need to see the need for and the good the money does.

I don't think many of the celebrities involved need their profiles raised really. David Beckham is pretty easy on the eye though

I understand what you're saying but it's a question of degree in my opinion. Most of us in this country have much more than the people in those films can ever dream of so it doesn't really matter who presents the films we're all in a better position.

you have far more than they do as well though...does that mean you should donate all your surplus income?

O o O oo

Most of them normally have something to promote. I am guessing some of them may get their hand in their pocket.

I watched a bit of one once which had celebs walking up a mountain while asking for people to donate their cash...when they got back down one of the celebs hired a private jet to take them all home.

The likes of that sticks in my throat as a normal plane would have sufficed and the extra money that was spent could have been donated to the pot.

A disclaimer though, this is just my _iew and I am not jealous of anyone if they have more money than me

but like you prob dont have far more than i will ever be able to spend.

so is it in proportion then say i donate 30 quid which to me is a alot of money to them its noting so would they donate 30 grand of ther wages would amount to the same thing as me giving 30 quid of my wages i think not

i think so but i also dont really care how much they donate. i care about doing what I can, no one else. be that donating time or money

They are just humans that have been lucky to exploit 'talents' which means people throw money at them. being a celeb doesn't mean being a saint.

me too ruggers,

i'm not saying they aren't pledging.

i know david becks does loads and gives so much in money as well, i'm just wondering, and like in your previous post about the private plane thats just wrong.

things like that just stick in my throat, there will prob be an after party tonight and thousands spent on moet champers etc. these sort of people just get so much.

take the oscars the goodie bag there for each guest was worth 80 thousand pounds, and i'm not jealous its not about me, we don't know the meaning of the word poor in this country, but id like to think if i had as much spare as some of these people i would give far more than just my time to front a tv program, for essentially my own gain agen.

i'm obviously surmising here i don' t know of course i don't and hope its not the case

like I said before its all a question of degree and we are nearly ALL guilty of living comfortable lives with more than we need while other people starve, do without medicine etc.

I'm ok with all the celebs asking for cash.... Until they get into a rant... ( not last night admittedly)....

My _iew is I'll give the same percentage of my wealth as you do!

It's only the shouters that annoy tho....
