I've bought a new shuffle and can't get anything on it. It's my one and only Apple item and I only bought it because I can clip it onto my training jacket! It's driving me mad |

Way over Yonder, that's where I'm bound |
I was bought an iPod for my birthday three years ago. I had some things loaded to it I can't get it to accept anything new since we changed computers. I just listen to the old stuff and none of the new.

I'd offer to sort it out for you if I lived nearer. |

"Ditto for yours Evie.
ahhhh, thank you x"
Update to the latest iTunes software on your latest Mac or PC and then attach your iPod or iPhone via USB. You should be able to transfer any music you previously bought via iTunes to your latest icloud account.
You can have an icloud account even if you only own a PC. |

the issue is i haven't used iTunes in maybe 6 years, i had very little purchased through iTunes - it was all ripped from cds.
also my account was linked to a now defunkt email account so had to set up a new apple ID.

The ripped music files should still be on the computer you ripped them to. Have you tried searching for an itunes or a music folder on the hard drive?
Even if itunes has "lost" the music directory, if the files are there, it's easy enough to consolidate everything. |

Well.....I think I've worked it out or at least it wasn't as drastic as I thought lol
A lot of the missing music was my exes stuff which I didn't like anyway lol
I found any old iTunes databases and shoved them in the correct location, deleted the 'not found' links on iTunes, deleted all duplicate tracks etc.
Still have my greenday which I'm happy about lol |
