OP - it's great you've done that. Yes it raises awareness about cancer research. A lot of my friends have done it on Facebook.
Personally I haven't - not because for one minute I don't care! I have lost both my parents at relatively young ages to the disease ( my father was only in his early 30's).
However I do my own thing for Cancer Research & I wholeheartedly agree - cancer is most definitely a wanker.

"How does going without make up raise awareness ?"
They donate £3 when the post a picture apparently and it gets everyone talking about cancer awareness. I don't do Face Ache but heard some girls talking about it lunch time. |

"How does going without make up raise awareness ?"
Well there's a lot of people on my FB list doing it so I guess they're all more aware. Also its £3 per selfie, so at least they're donating too. |

"How does going without make up raise awareness ?"
I asked the same question at work and was roundly denounced, however the percentage of people who had posted without donating was quite high and I'm pretty sure all of them and their Facebook friends are aware of cancer already. However it has raised loads of money so it's all good. |

"Women looking horrendous without make-up so not a fan of this campaign "
How lovely! I never wear make up and I've managed to attract a few men during my time. It's called having good skin, good bone structure, confidence and smiling |

The campaign was first set up by a make up company who wanted to raise awareness so the 'date to bare' campaign was to work as a shock campaign that a make up company was advocating not wearing make up. You're meant to text a donation through with it to one of the charities as you post your selfie and it's clearly got people talking even if only to moan that they don't like seeing people with no make up. It's just a gimmick, like wearing a red nose. It's the underlying message that is spread to self check. Which can only ever be a good message x and ps yes have donated, no didn't post selfie to go with it |

Usually these things end up giving lots of publicity to attention-hungry celebs who have a selfie which is make-up free. Most females can tell they're actually wearing make-up and that ends up being the topic of discussion, not the cause. |

"Nudity I would imagine. Cock in a sock is naked pic with a sock on your cock as the name suggests. "
There was loads of naked people in town today. They were all wandering around with their naked cocks and naked fannies in clothes. |

"Women looking horrendous without make-up so not a fan of this campaign
what a ray of sunshine you are "
To be fair, my FB feed is full of pix of bare faces as well as people commenting on their own pics regarding how minging they look...it's a fact that makeup mostly enhances what we've got...I commented "natural beauty - my arse" on my selfie cos that picture would scare small children and some of the prettiest ladies I know look bloody awful on their pix |

I rarely use facebook, I have seen the bare faces but not the cocks in socks.
It is a great pic OP but I can see why someone reported it. Some people are offended by nudity and as Facebook is used by all age groups then its not surprising that someone thought it inappropriate.
Still facebooks loss is our gain |

I pulled a good looking guy with no make up on, greasy riding hat hair and smelling of horse piss so I can't look that bad. |

I was asked to do cock in a sock but I dint think Facebook is the right place and having seen some of the photos it's no wonder they've been reported. Some of my female friends have posted selfies with no make up and on the whole they look just as good without. |

i would rather everyone that had an interest in helping cancer charities find a better, more worthwhile one to throw their money at that CrUK.
there are much more worthwhile charities that do a lot better work with your hard earned than this bunch. |

A group of butch lesbians of my acquaintance have asked for my help as a make up guru to assist with their version of this. They're going to post selfies of themselves in full slap wearing wigs and possibly dresses (the dresses might be going too far!) as they never wear make up!
So I'm painting bull dykes this weekend. |

The campaign has raised a great deal of money in a very short space of time & raised awareness too, tho not necessarily for the right reasons, which is great but shouldn't donating to charity be a selfless act, thousands of people donate to charities all the time and regularly without feeling the need to advertise to the world - or Facebook - that they do so. |
