Mine didn't appear until I lost weight, was just a bit round until then. But now I have to tuck it in my knickers and sometimes it slides down through the leg hole! ! |

Don't do what I just did and shove a beautiful cornish pasty into my head. Been travelling since 2am and to hell with my gut. Mrs Drinking will have to put up with it.
But seriously, low level cardiovascular exercise and a healthy balanced diet is the best way for a larger person to start losing weight. Do not crash diet or lose weight too fast because you will a) become unhealthy b) gaim even more weight in the long run and c) end up with excess skin.
Look on google for a heart rate chart which shows the number of beats per minute in bands and what band is best for what sort of outcome.
Weight loss takes a long time to do properly but there are NO quick fixes. No matter what anyone says. It is worth it. |

Even though i am young my body has been massivly stretched out.. Guess im just worried about that specific zone ending up worse than it currently is so wanted to make it a target zone asap |

"Sit ups"
sit ups are to tone your muscles however to see the muscles you have to get rid of any fat covering them
sculpting session with weights followed by high intensity cardio works well |

At your age your skin should still have good elasticity and just losing weight could be enough. |

The absolute key point you need to remember about losing belly fat is that you cannot burn fat from specific parts of your body. It’s just not how your body works - you need to lower your body fat instead. This will allow you to reduce the amount of excess fat you carry around in total which will reduce your stomach fat too.
Because ‘abs exercises’ (such as sit ups and crunches) just get you to sit down and flex your abdominal muscles, you are only working to tone those muscles and NOT to burn the fat around them.
To turn your body into a fat burning machine, you need to do two things when exercising. The first is to increase your heart rate so that your muscles receive the most amount of oxygen possible. This will boost your metabolism because your body will believe that you’re getting plenty of food.
The second thing is to actually exercise as much of your body as hard as possible. Going on a long run, doing an intensive cardio routine, going for a ride on your bicycle are all top ways to get your muscles into “overdrive” mode which then encourages your body to burn more fat |

"Your muscles use the fat closest at hand for energy so sit ups will help your stomach fat. " think you'll find that's not correct. There are numerous articles out in cyber/Interweb space that suggest that targeted fat loss is just not possible. Search sit-ups don't burn tummy fat.............
Cute............if you're losing weight already, big respect to you and let us know how you're getting on, have you considered asking a personal trainer for advice on toning everything up as you lose weight. A professional opinion will be so much more beneficial over a bunch of opinions of people for whom different things work for them individually. What works for one, may not work for you. |

too add a few facts here..
im still disgustingly over weight with a bmi over 50 and am well aware this is a 2/3 year journey im embarking on here
i have pretty much zero metabolism
im realistic, i have a bad back at the moment and think that if i started to 'run' i would more than likely do more damage to my knee's and ankles
my fitness level is 'practically dying on my arse after a 6 min non stop walk'.. but im building it, little and often.
but what i do have is will power and determination by the bucket load
im just thinking long term, that i know the jelly belly area just bugs me a lot |

I really shouldnt worry about it.
There are loads of happy men shagging a woman with some belly.
To take it further look at BBW's.
Years ago most blokes wouldnt be seen dead with one for fear of wisecracks. These days you see many a "tidy" looking bloke with a bigger woman |

I totally get where you are coming from. The fear of saggy skin is almost enough to put me off wanting to lose weight.
I need to lose the weight though, for health reasons, so I'm going to have to see what happens and go from there.
Body brushing and massaging/moisturising that area may help (and can't hurt). |

it took me 6 years to lose my weight, willpower and determination are the key (sorry my last post was more about the sit ups not burning fat) take it slowly and safely and you will get results if you want them. OH is a qualified master personal trainer and would be happy to help with any fitness programmes etc. X |

I totally disagree that loads & loads of cardio is the best way to loose weight. It isn't. Far better to walk quickly rather than jogging as the benefits are about the same without putting stress on your knees etc.
But the best way to loose weight is to build muscle. Muscle burns fat 24/7 & emphasize on your thigh muscles in particular as these are the largest. |

even though im young im still not convinced my skin will recover from this amount of stretch (i can live in hope though) so thats why i want to do it sensibly and make sure its a lifestyle change not a quick fix. I want to enjoy the foods i consume and embrace the new foods i'll try.
Being a healthier happier mother to my child is the goal. Id be lying if i said body image wasnt going to play apart so yes the excess skin would bother me. |

Because i attend a special clinic all the exercises we have been given are actually simple and based within the home.
in a nutshell anything which elivates our heart rate should help. even if its sitting in a chair but 'marching' or standing up doing a 'box step'
my fave thing (because im musical) is sticking on 4music and just dancing intensely to each track that comes on. I find it fun. |

Good luck with everything and remember, although its hard work, its supposed to be fun as well.
I was about 3 stone over weight although I got away with it a bit more as I'm really tall but just after new year I started hitting the gym about three times a week but more importantly, eating sensibly, and since then I've dropped 1.75 stone with more to go.
What you eat and when is absolutely crucial and I firmly believe thats been the biggest contributing factor to me losing weight so far.
I'm pleased with the loss but for me, its more about body shape and how I feel so I realise that my weight will probably level off a bit reasonably soon and then the remaining chunkiness will come off slowly, hopefully to be replaced with muscle at the same time.
Its definitely a full lifestyle change and it does take some dedication (I usually falter massively once a week on a Saturday) but if I have a binge day, I don't let it bother me, just get back on it again the day after.
What really spurs you on is when you start to see some kind of result and its self-perpetuating from there. I'm not a trainer, just a big guy who likes food and I genuinely thought I wouldn't be able to stick to it but the first time one of my mates turned round after not seeing me for about two months and said 'fuck me fella, you've lot a ton of weight!' made me feel great.
Check out some of these (non)photoshopped body transformations for inspiration. http://beforeandafterweightloss.tumblr.com/
Go for it and huge amounts of luck.

Its more calories than i used to eat to be fair.. im just going with it for 2 weeks and will see what the scales say.
The logic is that i need to get my metabolism going so they want to explore what happens when i consume more energy (its healthy and balanced btw not just choc) |

I did 500 calories for 3 months with lots of exercise. I did lose 18lbs but the whole experience made me body dysmorphic for about a year after and my belly remained round and fat. I know there are muscles in there as I can manage 50 stomach crunches and a couple of minutes of plank but the adipose fat doesn't really change for me.
Cute is on a plan and suggesting such a drastic 500 calorie plan is serious and can be dangerous.

Stick with what the dietician has provided. They are professional, and know what they are doing. Too few calories will push your body the wrong, and may affect you in a negative way.

That makes sense. Your body may be stuck on fat storage mode and needs to be jolted into calorie burning.
If I reduce my calories I gain weight. When I went down to 500 calories a day it took 25 days before I lost 2lbs. |

^Yeah, both coins flip and land the same way up.
BUT...
2,700 calories is a fucking lot of calories to eat.
That being said, regular meals, the size of a fist 6x/day will stop you binging and snacking on Bullshit, 2700 calories is still a LOT.

Only thing that will work is a tummy tuck I have been yoyoing for years a two c sections so this would be the only way. I swim, walk miles with the dog and I use the free gym equipment at the park. Am loosing rapidly due to metaformin and Thyroxin so all the years that I have been struggling there has been a reason. I am toning up and seeing shape but belly/apron will be there x |

Remember: the only thing stopping you/anyone from reaching their goals be it weight loss/anything else is the bullshit story you keep telling yourself why you can't do it.

Don't forget that men and women lose weight in different ways too. Women are built with a thicker layer of fat designed to help with child-bearing and keeping us warm for longer (not at skin level) thus protecting the pregnancy at low temperatures.

"Only thing that will work is a tummy tuck I have been yoyoing for years a two c sections so this would be the only way. I swim, walk miles with the dog and I use the free gym equipment at the park. Am loosing rapidly due to metaformin and Thyroxin so all the years that I have been struggling there has been a reason. I am toning up and seeing shape but belly/apron will be there x"
Well congrats on loosing weight, sometimes id notice my body shape change and id drop a dress size yet the scales would remain the same |

Cute, you could try an elliptical machine that won't put stress on your joints. Like you I'm giving myself two years to lose my own excess weight. Food is not the problem for me, exercise is. My other half is super fit and bullies me along.
Good luck with it! "

"Sit ups
Noooo sit ups do not get rid of belly fat at all. Only cardiovascular exercises.
Resistance exercise builds muscle which raises metabolism and burns more calories, even at rest.

ok dumb question.. whats a resistance exercise? |

Mine didn't appear until I lost weight, was just a bit round until then. But now I have to tuck it in my knickers and sometimes it slides down through the leg hole! ! "

Good luck Cute. You never know, you have age on your side. You might be lucky and have stretchy skin. Either way the health benefits are really worth it. x |

I found it easier to think I was losing weight for the sake of my health not just to look better, it kept me more motivated. Getting a gym buddy and doing lots of cardio type workouts (rowing machine, cycling etc) did it for me. |

Hi Cute.
Your honesty is bloody wonderful and I applaud you for it.
To your question; with a BMI of 50, when you lose weight, don't expect a smooth, tight body (but you know that, most of those smooth, perfect bodies belong to genetic rarities) you will be left with spare, baggy skin in various parts of your body and almost certainly your lower abdomen. All the exercise in the world wont get rid of it, only surgery will.
I know of many, many slim women who have always been slim and have a baby belly. It's part of being a magnificent woman. As you know, I have lost and kept off eight stones and I have the baggy bits that go along with it. In fact, one of my party pieces is to show how I can move quite a bit of my soft bits over my bones!
Any exercise you can do can only be of benefit to your entire health and make you feel amazing.
You go get it woman and keep it! |

Healthy diet..as ur dietician recommends. a balanced diet may seem like more than ur used to eating. But it stops ur body going into starvation mode and storing the fat..ur dietian will reccomend reducing ur portions in line with ur weight loss.
Eating a low calorie breakfast within an hour h half of getting up will help boost ur motabolism
Swimmng is a great all round low impact exercise or aqua arobics.
Just stick with it. u will see the difference eventually. Try not to worry about specific areas of ur body..with healthy lifestyle changes they will sort themselves out |

Cute.. I love you for the fact your so open and honest about this all..
as you know also I have the same problem..
I have lost in just the last 7months nearly 3stone.
yet im still fat!
I have an 11 inch overhang of skin that is just loose skin/lost fat.. it will never go anywhere I need it chopped off.
sometimes it makes me so depressed others I love how I am and couldnt give a shit about what others think.
im still loosing weight.. but also trying to be healthier. .... walking up the local hills just knackers me out xxx

I've got a bit of a jelly belly an all. And I bloody hate it!! Why did I discover the yumminess of a quarter pounder??!!
...i know what to do to get rid of it. But, I loves m'food. You just have to cut down on sugar to be honest and making sure you're doing some sort of cardio. Doesn't have to be running. Could be an uphill walk of some sort if you have a bad back. Something small but regular and you'd see the changes.
good luck maoam x

Just to echo what has been said - you cannot spot reduce fat, your body stores it where you are genetically predisposed to store it (which in my case also appears to be centred on my stomach).
Good news though, at your age, I would have thought the skin will tighten when you lose weight, it may take a bit of time, but it'll happen. |

If the overhang and excess skin is causing problems or over a certain length you can have surgery. Losing weight quickly will leave you with skin that hasn't had time to shrink with the fat loss |

"I really shouldnt worry about it.
There are loads of happy men shagging a woman with some belly.
To take it further look at BBW's.
Years ago most blokes wouldnt be seen dead with one for fear of wisecracks. These days you see many a "tidy" looking bloke with a bigger woman"
This is very true!! Still trying to lose weight for my health but finding a sexy guy or lovely lady for that matter hasn't been a problem lucky me I say |

I too have an apron. Give me a lacy pair of boy shorts and it's blissfully hidden.
I'm at the gym regularly and doing cv exercises and weights. I've noticed my waist going in but my stomach pushing out more. Think of it like squeezing gently on a balloon.
I've been advised to try cutting out wheat.
My point is join a gym and get them to help you with a training programme suitable for YOUR needs. Alongside your dietician's advice you'll do well. |

Try one of them crazy insanity type workout classes, they keep burnin calories for 24/48 hrs after doing it.
The only downside is the belly area is the last place to go, you have to build a certain amount of muscle before any excess you want rid of will start to shift. Try and avoid any crazy fad diets, you'll lose the weight but not the excess, you need to tone up while dieting to do that.
set yourself goals, do-able amounts off within reasonable time scales, focus on fitness and health rather than just the weight loss, you'll feel better about yourself and will notice so many improvements in your day to day life, simple things like running in the park with your daughter etc.
Good look and stay focused |

I haven't been trying to lose weight but I have lost fat from my tummy area and it is down to the amount of walking I do.
I walk for an hour and half each day and I've noticed the difference fairly quickly. I don't have scales in my house so don't know my weight but I've gone down a dress size in 8 weeks by just walking and I'm eating as I normally do. |

"too add a few facts here..
im still disgustingly over weight with a bmi over 50 and am well aware this is a 2/3 year journey im embarking on here
i have pretty much zero metabolism
im realistic, i have a bad back at the moment and think that if i started to 'run' i would more than likely do more damage to my knee's and ankles
my fitness level is 'practically dying on my arse after a 6 min non stop walk'.. but im building it, little and often.
but what i do have is will power and determination by the bucket load
im just thinking long term, that i know the jelly belly area just bugs me a lot " |
