In short, your waist measurement should be no more than half your height.
I'm off to measure mine. |

"Yep and I suspect your height in cms should be the same a your iiQ, but that aint gonna happen is it?"
Thank God. That would equate to tall people being more intelligent than short. I don't mind being short but it certainly bears no correlation to my intelligence. |

I love it when people say they're middle aged in their 50s or even 60s. Really? You really going to be living at 100/120 years old?
I say I'm post- middle aged. Not 'old' yet but beyond middle aged. |

That's the point I was trying to make, it is nonsensical correlation! |

Forget it !! Anyway we are all off to measure ourselves to see how fat we are ! That should make us all feel good about ourselves shouldn't it. |

"what happens if it is ?
nothing you can carry on as normal and worry about the utter shite that the BBC publish lol "
I've noticed leaflets at my surgery and pharmacy mention the waist issue. So it's possibly an NHS drive. |

When we see our waists are thicker than they should be, we can feel good due to endorphins released during the ensuing exercise and sexercise . |

"I can't possibly behaving a mid life crisis, I don't feel the slightest urge to buy a Harley or a convertible!
But I reckon growing an extra six inches won't do me any harm! "
When I said grow an extra six inches, I meant......oh, never mind |

Speaking as the man im a bit miffed witha belly Ive suddenly "acquired".
OK having to give up football didnt help but up until 40th birthday I could go extra careful and it would disappear.
Sadly now Im 45 it doesnt shift
I dont eat a lot of fatty foods, im no boozer and rarely drink beer or lager.
I gave up smoking two months back but im not picking at food to compensate and to add to this I deliver tyres for a living.Plenty of bending down and lugging tyres around.
I kind of get away with it being 6'2" and Im not a "fat bloke" but if i relax its there to see.
Whoever said "life begins at Forty" deserves a kick in the bollocks |

And don't forget people, your waist size isn't the size of the waistband on your jeans, that is more likely to be your hip size, pull the tape measure a little higher so its measuring around your stomach |

Way over Yonder, that's where I'm bound |
I'm muddle-aged.
Fat is a complex issue. You can be fat on the outside and thin inside. You can be fat inside and thin outside. You can be fat and fit. You can be fat and unfit.
Inside fat is a killer. Fat held around your middle is often an indicator for Type 2 diabetes and that you may have fat around your organs. Reducing belly fat is thought to reduce the risk of having killer fat.
It's not a BBC thing but has been a NHS campaign for the last four years or so.
