The first day of Spring is in 2014 on March 20 (according to the astronomical definition). It is also called the spring quinox. Spring is one of the four temperate seasons, the transition period between winter and summer. Spring and "springtime" refer to the season, and broadly to ideas of rebirth, renewal and regrowth.
In spring, the axis of the Earth is increasing its tilt toward the Sun and the length of daylight rapidly increases for the relevant hemisphere. The hemisphere begins to warm significantly causing new plant growth to "spring forth. So winters over ......... xx Thank god . xxx And may we have a lovely spring and summer .

Yes, the vernal equinox, the earth's axis is perpendicular to the sun, the whole planet experiences an equal day and night length, and from now on the days are longer than the night for all in the northern hemisphere.
This is the true meaning of easter (a germanic word), an event celebrated since before records began. The christian celebration, as with christmas, was grafted on to the pagan calendar. In the case of easter, due to past inaccuracies with calendars, the dates have drifted apart.
Enjoy |

"I've awoken to a beautiful bright day. I have a day where I can choose to do exactly what I want rather than having things I must do.
I'm full of the joys of spring today." Well I hope you have a lovely spring day there. xx |

I've not heard it used for clothes. I'm most familiar with it to mean a smack or to have power.
Powerful people are said to have clout.
I have heard it used to refer to a woman's lady bits too though.
Our language is funny sometimes. |

lol Just to take the shine off a great start to the day, my (long-haired) boy cat appeared with runny poo all over his fluffy trousers. And sat down on the bed, getting it over the duvet cover.
Lovely!
Impromptu laundry day! At least I ought to be able to get it dry.
