My cd collection consists of Michael Ball Christmas, Marti Pellow and a couple of old Christmas compilations. Not much of a music listener. In the car alone I listen to Classic FM |

Eclectic but I'm a rocker at heart. Still musically rooted in 70s and 80s. That said, I'm a music lover so if it's a great tune with good lyrics, sung by someone with a good voice, in all probability, I will like it. Even better if I know how to play it and I can sing it |

Depends what I'm doing I love all sorts of music
If I'm drumming - metal
If I'm producing - drum & bass, dubstep
if I'm in the car - any bass music, got 3800 watts running
Life without music would be dull....... Very very dull |

Im a huge fan of Electronic music with plenty of synths. Gary Numan,Depeche Mode,Ultravox. That kind of thing.
Also throw in Bowie,Simple Mind and any New wave acts like Cocteau Twins and Siouxsie and the Banshees.
As for My wife...Faithless or something "dancey" |

Ahhh totally forgot the classic rock!
Ac dc, guns n roses, the who. Etc all what started my love of music at 13
Legends that the music business of today will never come close to with the generic shite it's churning out |

Pretty much everything from Aerosmith to Zappa, Spencer Davis to Miles Davis, Beefheart to Brahms, Bach to Barclay James Harvest, Jacques Brel to Jackson Browne, Robert Johnson to John Martyn, Motzart to Meola etc etc,
Anything except tacky pop - I can even get off on some psytrance (hippie roots) if the pharmacological conditions are favourable. |

I've got pretty eclectic tastes where the music collection ranges from Classical, Electronic, Folk Rock, tons of AC/DC, Rap, Blues, the list just goes on. Though the list is extensive, Rap and Metal tend to be my two most played genres and Sundays mornings are for Classical |

I think I've got a wide scope of music. But I think I have a preference for late 60's/70's bands like:
The Beatles
Led Zeppelin
The Who
The Doors
Pink Floyd
Rolling Stones
Fleetwood Mac
Janis Joplin
Jefferson Airplane.
Probably similar bands I forgot.
But I enjoy that rock/psychedelic etc |

I like most music but I don't really understand hip hop. I haven't heard any of the new pop stuff like Bieber or Niki Minaj as I don't listen to that sort of radio station.
My favourite genres would be Folk, country or Blues but I like a bit of Ska and rock n roll as well. |

My tastes fluctuate over time. At the moment I am mostly into post-rock, witch house, funeral doom, 8-bit, future garage, ambient & neo-classical.
However I do like a spot of metal, dubstep, pop, dance or punk when the time arises. |

"Black American soul music that became very popular in northern dancehalls.
Blackpool, Wigan and Manchester Twisted Wheel were well known locations. So its American soul then...."
Yes but it was specific types that were popular with mods to dance to. Was usually quite a fast tempo so wasn't any type of soul.
Bit like dance today I guess.
Funnily enough, cheeky scouse Craig Charles plays a lot of Northern Soul at his Soul and Funk gigs. |

"The ultimate rock god himself......
Timmy Mallett"
Timmy Mallet!,
"itsy bitsy teeny weenie yellow polka dot bikini" (late 80's or early 90's)
That takes me back one hit wonder, a song similar to "agadoo". Memorable for all the WRONG reasons. |
