Well it seems that the DWP are going to call time on one of the most crappiest jobs websites I've ever used. One of the reasons given was "too many fake jobs".
Here's the article..... http://www.theguardian.com/money/2014/mar/16/dwp-jobs-website-universal-jobsmatch
**** THIS TOPIC IS ABOUT JOBMATCH AND MAYBE LOOKING FOR JOBS IN GENERAL, NOT THE BENEFIT SYSTEM.... OK? **** |

Being unemployed and being told to use this "wonderful" service... Last month through pure boredom I sent a long email with at least 10 points on how to improve the website. I know nothing about how websites are built etc I just know a user friendly site when I see one or don't as the case might be...
I've not had a reply to my email.... |

I've just been informed that you now have to have a Twitter account and Tweet all the jobs you apply for? Does anyone know if this is true? I know they used to advise you to use Twitter and Facebook as a way of networking for job search but to use it as proof of jobs applied for is surely a breech of privacy rights? |

I did that too last year. Contacted them through the site. They replied quite cynically about how the site was already "good enough". I replied back less helpfully, you might say. |

Yes that would be a breach. It must be bollocks because they dont want to encourage you to be on Facebook all day. |

I don't want a Twitter account. You can copy any job applications or email responses and paste them onto your UJ notes. Whether your advisor checks is another issue altogether |

Or you can just write them in the diary booklets they leave on the desk when you go sign on. That to me is the best way because it doesn't require anything specific |

Majority of the "jobs" advertised here are agency and when you call them it has been filled. A week later the same job advertised.
Told the local job centre and they said they could use it as they.wished!

I remember when they used to have an interview room at my Jobcentre. They'd offer you a job and if you wanted it, you could get interviewed for it by the agency right there. Now they're so heavily departmentalised they probably can't organise a toilet break without head office saying so. |
