Yep, I laugh about our season all the time.
Some of us have been about at matches long enough to know how to take the rough with the smooth.

PS, being humourless about your club is not exclusive to man u fans honest. We have scouse in our family and it can get testy lol.

"Been winding United fans up in work, but none seem to find me funny ? Do they ever laugh ? "
They must do as going to home matchs this season must be hysterical |

like most things if one set of fans have spent years giving it to others, then naturally its coming back in large amounts when the situation changes..
a case of suck it up as it could be the way for a little while..
the banner was a classic..

Moyes is a football genius with a picture of him looking less than pleased..

Yes we have a sense of humour - right now we have to!
No point getting uptight about it - what will be will be. You have to take the fails as well as you take the successes. And whilst we've had more than many clubs in terms of the latter over the last decades nothing lasts forever.
It's the same with any club - it's just our turn to get ribbed right now. But everyone likes to knock a previously successful team down a peg or two when they're not performing. It's human nature!

They don't! They only started supporting them because its what bitter people who can't stand to loose do and now as far as they are concerned the world has ended. Funniest thing in years it is |

The true united fans will have a sense of humour. Every proper fan can laugh at their own club.
The rest will just start supporting City or Chelsea and deny ever supporting Man U. |

I hope Alex ferguson feels bad! It's his fault man utd are where they are now. He never invested 2-3 years ago and now they have a team lacking talent and full of " have beens". Take out Rooney, van Persie, the keeper and mata and they have a championship side! Can't blame moyes for that ! Oh and no champions league next season means no money and nobody will want to go there ! |

see, i am with you (not a man u fan) but followed my team long enough to take the rough with the smooth
heard a guy phone the radio saturday night, however, and some seem to forget where they came from.
he has apparently supported the team for 53 years, and has said he will be ripping up his season ticket because of how bad they are.
now, im not the biggest historian of man u, but surely, in the 53 years, they have served up enough shite to know this isnt the worse they have ever been
man u fans have been spoiled for the last couple of decades.
i can understand the kids that dont know any different being up in arms, but those people that have followed through thick and thin should really know better. |

Agreed, the guy is clearly a buffoon.
These things come in cycles, we were bobbins pre-fergie and even bobbins when he arrived. The 80s were liverpools time, we had 20 brilliant years, that makes us unbelievably privileged, now they're brilliant memories. Surely the fans knew in their hearts this is what was going to happen?
Now people finally understand just how good that guy Fergie was, a team largely unchanged from last year but a massive change in fortunes.
I feel for Moyes and I think the fans need to stop over-reacting if they don't to endure the manager merry go round. It was a poison chalice to take the job. Doubt any other manager in the Prem would be making a much better fist of it. You don't just need a good manager, you need players that respond, they're not responding. Where the fault lies im not sure, if there is even fault.
So, it's someone elses time now, maybe our time will come again but it might be a very long wait.

"Good demographic of Utd support here. We might have one from Manchester soon?"
Born and raised on Trafford Road, wanna find anyone closer to their ground for any other club???? Won't be many!!!I could see the ground from the garden, about 200 metres.

United till I die here too , and through thick and thin since I was 6 .
Is it funny seeing a complete buffoon take charge of the team and fuck it up ?
No ... But the poster yesterday was lol !
And all the pro Moyes are supporters of other clubs , so somewhat ironic really .
The sooner he realises he is as bad as we all know he is , the better .

Loved Fergie's face on Sunday!
I agree with the earlier post that Football has cycles of success. Man Utd have had their time. I think the players and fans to that for granted. |

I am a Manc Red and went to OT for the first time in July 1966 for a world cup match Bulgaria v Portugal. We only had a black and white telly and when I got to the top of the Stretford End I was truly amazed as it was there in Technicolor.
I come from a large family and we are roughly 50 - 50 split into the red and blue camps. Family dos are great fun (or they were!) as its just banter on the various topical footballing subjects.
I was destined to be a red and grew up idolising George Best and Denis Law. I was on the pitch when we lost 0-1 to City and we were relegated to the second division. People say City relegated us but Birmingham's result consigned United to the second tier. Myself and two mates approached Mike Doyle shouting abuse. He stopped turned and looked at us (along with countless others) and said "come near me and I will kick your arses" needless to say we never went near him as he was a hard man!
On the way home the three of us made a vow to go to every game, home and away and we did. My yellow mini clubman was the most often used mode of transport to away games save for when it was raining as water used to get into the distributor cap and she wouldn't start or move!
In later years I became a season ticket holder and paid to support them in the Dave Sexton and Big Ron years which was a deceive to flatter periods and then SAF turned up and frankly for the first two years made a complete balls up of the team and tactics. He was left a pile of has beens by big Ron with no real objectives other than to hang on to the shirt tails of Liverpool. But we stuck with him and with hard graft and a vision he...............well its part of footballing folk law and it sadly came to an end last season.
Moyes will succeed but it will take time and I dare say there will be more maulings like yesterday on the route back to the top but it will happen!
As for the three Amigos who thought they would take on a legend called Mike Doyle we still go but now we watch in comfort and when we cannot get a ticket for a final via the ballot we pay stupid amounts of money to watch them the last being £2,500 each to go to Rome to be mauled by Baracelona in the Champions league final.
Yesterday after the game the three Amigos sat in the quadrant pub in Stretford stunned! I am a bachelor but the other two phoned home to say that they would be late home as we went on "the piss" in Manchester. We laughed at the Mike Doyle incident and all of gave a vocal opinion on what should be done. But this morning my phone was full of texts from City, Arsenal and Liverpool fans who are friends, extracting the urine as in the past the amigos have feasted on the Fergie years!
We will be there on Wednesday and then against City and Aston Villa as we are Manc Reds who nearly got their arses kicked by a Manc Blue 40 yeas ago!

Unfortunately there is a big big difference now compared to even 20 years ago-money !
The game is now controlled by millionaires, played by millionaires and managed by millionaires. If you don't get in the champions league you fade away very very quickly and , I'm afraid to say unless a mega rich sugar daddy comes along (like man city and Chelsea ) you will never recover. Believe me I'm a Leeds United fan and stuck with them for all these years but they will never get back in the premiership never mind the champions league again (well not in my life time anyway!) |

Doesn't mean Moyes can't do it, sadly I doubt he will ever be given the space to fulfil his potential because the landscape has changed dramatically.
Fergie didn't start out with the reverence he left OT with, plenty wanted him out and they came so close to getting their wish.
No Moyes isn't a Fergie but nobody is.
The chances of us ever finding a manager to repeat the success slim to none. |

Believe me I'm a dirty Leeds United fan and stuck with them for all these years but they will never get back in the premiership never mind the champions league again (well not in my life time anyway!)" ftfy |

"I am a Manc Red and went to OT for the first time in July 1966 for a world cup match Bulgaria v Portugal.
I believe your pessimism to contain a large serving of bollocks old bean, for Man U certainly, and yes, for Leeds more specifically though I imagine you hope for the same thing for the latter! For one, given your age its likely you'll live on average around another 35 years. Now take a look at the current championship table and see how many clubs, sugar daddy or not, have enjoyed at least one season in the top flight since it became the premiership. The overwhelming majority, and there's probably two thirds of that league who no one would be surprised at if they went up at the end of next season. The odds against Leeds getting promoted at some point over the next 35 years are therefore very slim indeed.
Now lets look at the Sugar Daddy aspect. These super rich oil barons love little more than being worshipped as a demi-god by huge fanbases, which with a population of the city close to a million during term time Leeds certainly has. Chuck in Dewsbury, Batley, Wakefield etc and you have a million and a half. Perect for some meglomaniac to have stroking his balls and telling him how truly great he is! Plus the kudos of waking a sleeping giant is simply irresistible....
So chin up pal. And no, I don't support Leeds myself as Im originally from 70 odd mile up the road, but that merely means Im ideally qualified to talk about near extinction to boom and Europe in the space of two decades..... |

Why do so many people think that given time Moyes will be a success? What has he done in his career to date and during his short time at United to suggest he is in any qualified to do the job. I would put him out of his misery and get someone in who is big enough for the job. |

Most M.U. fans I know never seem to apreciate the old joke "How do you confuse a M.U. fan? Show them a map of Manchester!"
Yes, I was a M.U. supporter when I was young and stupid! It was the Georgie Best thing and I`m born and bred Dorset! |

I don't think it's we necessarily that we think he will, rather that he needs to be given to be given an opportunity longer than 30 league matches to try. Aside from maybe 2 or 3 players this is not a top 4 side. The difference was Fergie, a genius at management who got more from players than anyone else could.
I for one don't want my club to become a revolving door for managers.
Moyes might just be seen in history as a transitional figure for Man U, but I'd rather we didnt dump a manager after 1 season.
What did people think would happen when Fergie left?
We'd go on to bigger and better things?

Most non man u fans don't know there are more man u fans in mcr than city fans.
But I guess knowing sweet FA ( see what I did there!) about the city that might be lost on you non man u fans too. North and West Manchester is Red, South and East Manchester is blue.
It's such a tired old cliche but if that's what you grab on to, enjoy

Given he knew he had the job probably a year ago you could argue that he has had plenty of time to prove himself. He failed to bring in anyone during the summer in a series of failed courtships that ultimately led to the panic buy of Fellaini at a value in excess of what he could have been bought for. There has been poor tactical decisions in games, a lack of ability to motivate his team, criticism or archaic training methods and then another panic buy in January of a player who is now being played out of position and having zero impact on the side. It is hard to believe that the same group of players is nearly 30 points worse this year than last without serious failings at the top.
Compare and contrast with Mourinho at Chelsea, inherited an ageing squad, made a tough decision about the fans player of the year for the past 2 years, bought quality in Willian and Matic, has sidelined senior players in favour of youth with Cole and Lampard now used sparingly and has shown true leadership qualities.

Mourinho goes to any club with a bottomless pit of money. I'd love to see him work his magic with a club that wasn't cash rich and had average players, he'd sink like a stone. Not saying he's not a decent manager but he's far from the footballing God people think he is, he's savvy and goes where conditions are favourable. I would have hated for that guy to come to OT.
Who do we have available to us who'd dramatically turn things around? surprised if touted Bundesliga managers are interested, why would they be, look at their league? It's healthy, it's affordable and the football is exciting. |

I'm not a Chelsea fan, and don't think Mourinho is right for United, but the comparison is valid. He has spent less money than Moyes and has convincingly out performed him over the same period. He looks and feels like a man in control of everything that is going on in complete contrast to Moyes (football genius - what a great poster from Liverpool fans!) who looks lost and hoplessly out of his depth. I am enjoying the demise if I'm honst, but can't see how he can survive, football and United have moved on significantly since Ferguson joined the club and I suspect his paymasters will lose patience soon. |

Mourinho didn't take over from a guy who'd kept a club at the pinnacle for 20 years. He would not put himself in a position where the conditions are right for failure as was the case with Fergie leaving, there's no comparison with the circus that is Chelsea. He also didn't take over a team of over-achieving players who had a manager who single-mindedly wrung every drop from his players.

I thought mourinho did a fairly good job at Porto with little money. I seem to remember him getting a fairly good result at old Trafford with a team that cost less than rio Ferdinand. I could be wrong though. |

Of course they do they employed Crazy Dave the clown from Chipperfields Goodison circus they must have one. For the rest of the season Crazy they are dispensing with the team bus and Crazy Dave will take the whole team to away matches in his mini sized clown car which seats 46 as they aim to be the premierships biggest joke. |
