Once bitten, twice shy.

When you have had an unpleasant experience you are much more careful to avoid similar experiences in the future . ? Or do you find yourself doing same things over and over again .? I am of some things now .

It depends if a failure was caused by external influences beyond my control, or if the error was mine and I have learned from it.

It's how we learn. If we keep doing the same things again then we haven't learned the lesson. Keep doing the same is not a way to get a different result.
