Team player? I figured out at work last night that I love nothing more than being left alone to work its nice n peaceful and I get to work uninterrupted without people butting in and trying to 'help'. So which are you team player or not?

A bit of both but I would say I much prefer being left to do what I need to on my own and only really work as a team when required x

Brighton - even Hove!

I'm more a team leader/delegator. It's the team that gets the job done but a leaderless team is like a ship with no rudder, it will drift, might get where you want but will take longer and might crash on rocks.

I've been working alone for 6 years, trust me when I say working alone loses it's allure very quickly.

I like working with people, but find I work better if I have my own little empire to take care of. In a team, I'm always the one that goes to fetch the drinks and meets someone interesting on the way back and is unaccounted for for 15 minutes

Although I work as part of a small team, after a series of 12 hr shifts with them it is nice to get to do some solo work

Being a team player and working alone do not work in opposition.

e.g. You can be part of a team that works remotely but still have the interests of the team in mind and a deadline for a project.

You still require a 'mindfulness' of others.

Suppose everyone is different. I work in complete isolation, nobody in my building even does remotely the same job as me so there's no work talk, my work is hideously pressurised too so if I fail, a lot fails! sometimes it would be nice to have another voice in my office that wasn't radio 2!

On balance, I'm a team player....

I do like to be left alone to do my job (it's usually something that only I can do) but since I impact on most other people in the organisations I work for I usually have to be on good terms....I also help other people out when my desk is a bit slack.........

Somewhere in North Norfolk

I can work as part of a team if I need to. It really helps if the rest of the team know what they are doing and pull their weight though.

I prefer having specified work to do with definite goals and being left to get on with making it happen. I'm happiest when my manager tells me what they want done. I'll look at it and tell them if I can do it. If so, I'll tell them what I'll need. If not we can discuss what I can do or what could be done to reach the outcome they want and reach an agreement. Then I'll go away and make it happen. I'll go back to my manager if I run into a problem that needs their input in some way. Otherwise I'll just get the job done.
