W fuckin H Smiths in Airports !

Just a bit of a rant really . I went into WH Smiths in T1 this morning to buy ........a paper ! Not a car , or a computer or a large ocean going container ship ......but a ......newspaper . Because they can't find enough illegal immigrants to man the tills at that time of the morning they direct you to the self service till.

FFS First you have to scan your item , whilst stopping your bag falling over with one foot and juggling your coat and computer bag in one hand. Next ......no !!! I don't want a fucking cadburys cream egg , and no I don't want a bag for £0.02 , because as your fucking computer should know I've only scanned in a god damn newspaper . AND THEN , you have to scan your bloody boarding pass , which with your only spare hand you have to retrieve from the inside pocket of your jacket . All the while a queue of 900 people have formed behind you all of them thinking they can FUCKING DO IT QUICKER !!!

WH SMITHS !!! Sort it out .

It's not that difficult, the price is on the paper have the right change and just leave the money on the counter. When you walk out with the paper without scanning it staff magically appear and you can point to the stack of coins they will then put in the till for you. Simples

Shhhh, don;t confuse him with facts! If he can;t deal with something as complicated as a self-service till and the concept of showing his boarding pass at an airport I genuinely fear what having to deal with facts may do!

At least the paper is the right price. At the prices that Smith's charges for sweets and drinks they should at least give their staff a mask to wear so they could look like Dirk Turpin
