"I have a problem with my lappy, on Windows 8 and it seems to have lost the H drive ... how do I get it back please? "
Is it lost or maybe just renamed? Is there something you know is on H you could get the machine to search for and thus find H? |

'H' would normally not be used by a normal drive, especially on a laptop so I suspect it's some sort of external drive/ usb stick / memory card. Try plugging in your usb stick (if that's what it is) to a different usb port. Do feel free to message me if I can be of any further assistance. |

H is the built in memory card reader - and I can force the laptop to find it but it used to instantly open when a memory card was inserted ............ I think there is some conflict with my software for my camera |

Ok, it sounds like the AUTOPLAY settings have been changed.
Try this... point your mouse to the bottom right-hand corner and you should get a menu. Click on the Settings (The COG) then select Control Panel. In the next window that opens, search for AUTOPLAY in the search box a the top right. Click on the green heading "Autoplay".
Now you should have a list of types of Media and a Drop Down Box for each one. Your H drive will be either "removable Drive" or "Memory Card". Change the option next to each media to what you want, and then click SAVE at the bottom.
