I think they are treated differently which is no different to everyday life. Men and women are treated differently in many aspects of everyday life.

From a purely logistical point of _iew, there are far more men on the forums than women (though, I should hazard a guess that the balance is less extreme than in general across the site). So there are likely to be more comments from men than from women.
On a psychological level, we are all out for the same thing and this is a generally competitive game. Most men, then, will ignore other men and only comment on women, unless their comments are negative towards the other men.
The ladies don't have that issue as they can afford to be far more choosy.
This is commentary is based on a "general rule of thumb". It's not meant to be an "in every case" comment. |

First part so true, friend of mine (elsewhere) got spoken to like crap by some women after first messages. (profiles carefully checked for matches first and they wanted contact from men)
The guy is ery funny, good looking, patient and and a great conversationalist.
He showed me some of the messages, so it seems for every guy who asks "wanna fuck" there is a woman who'll say "fuck off" after receiving a thoughtful opener.
I looked at some of these Womens profiles who sent these messages and thought, crikey, you're not in his league.

I looked at some of these Womens profiles who sent these messages and thought, crikey, you're not in his league.
So it does indeed go to some peoples heads and they forget who they are in the real world where there would be no such attention.
Amazing the number of people who publicly complain about attention from men but it's never that serious to feel the need to filter them out, perhaps secretly it's a bios old ego massage being bombarded!"

Have to agree, and the whole 'white knight' thing comes into play too. Some men pander to women's woeful posts, even if it isn't wanted, which boosts the ego's of some women, but yet call men out who post the same 'look at me' type threads. Some will always pick up on the negative tones of some threads and this then gets carried through in the following posts...especially if they are followed by the white knight brigade, whereas if the initial responses are more positive then the rest of the thread seems to follow the same reassuring feel.
I do sometimes feel though that some guys don't help themselves by starting threads looking to justify why they do things that they know others disagree with...the age old 'I'm cheating for a good reason' thread being the main culprit. Generally women don't bring attention to things they know others will disagree with and get on with it quietly in the background, and so they don't attract the same scorn.
So yeah, some women get inflated ego's from this site and the many white knights, whereas the guys get berated for wanting casual sex with multiple partners as they're seen as not being as selective...go figure! |

Is there really a difference in the end???
I've met and talked to some lovely women on here and had some lovely , kind and polite messages. I've equally had some horrendous vitriolic diatribes that would make you wonder if the person is actually a full shilling! Both extremes have been in response to polite and respectful messages, sometimes humorous, other times simply a question or observation, but in all instances civilised and polite. I would certainly echo the sentiment that some women on this site are punching well above their weight and in the real world they wouldn't get a second glance, but this applies equally to the men. At the end of the day, you can simply choose to avoid these people and not let them impact on your fun. |
