Im due to do a half marathon in a few weeks for the first time(ive done lots of 10k and 5k before), and would appreciate any advice on training and carb loading before race. Ive done the bulk of the training and have run 15 miles last week, so just wanted to get the last couple of weeks training right. |

I used to off road cycle marathon riding like 80 and 100km I used to load on pasta the night before and make sure I had a hydrapack of weak energy drink for the actual race. If you need some instant sugar energy fig biscuits are the one.
Good luck |

I do pasta the night before. Porridge in the morning very early, a banana and some flapjack en route. Big poo about an hour before the start and some jelly babies for around the 10 mile mark. Drink a little bit at every station. |

I would suggest visiting the 'My Asics' site I used it for my first ultra, the best advice I would give is to forget running long distances, shorter more intense sessions will do you far better whilst training. - Mr. B |
