"Your pension will still be there, if at a lower rate.
Will the new challenge give you a thrill?"
Yes it's a total turnaround, a massive new challenge I'm unsure wether I have the patience.. From cardiac.. To autistic adolencents. So rewarding but so challenging. I need to move on from my current role. I get itchy feet ![](/icons/s/eek.gif) |

Autistic adolescents will be an enormous challenge but enormously rewarding too. Only you know if you have the patience.

sounds like you are leaving one amazing job for another albeit with different challenges.
I'm in awe of people who work in both fields, from personal experience with my parents and cardiac units & a friend who has an autistic child.

Ah thank you sweetie, I've jumped on many a chest, to staying alive lol... But this to me is a whole different ball game... I've worked secure units, with psychotics, phycopaths, looked after cerebral palsy guys, and Down syndrome, but I haven't got the foggiest about autism, ill be honest... I've read up on it... It's vast.. And quite honestly scary ... I've not a clue! I think this is why I'm tempted to accept...
I've agonised to the point of tears ffs!!!
Give me me a phychotic! Or an MI Any day lol x |

go with your gut.
what was your first thought about the new job, before you started thinking about all the shit surrounding the situation of changing or staying?
i ALWAYS follow my first instinct and have never gone wrong yet.
that first thought, before your judgement is clouded by life, is the one that you trully believe is for you. |

Do what your gut says and if it turns out your gut says take the job and it doesn't work out I'm sure you'd be well placed to find something back in your field of speciality. |

In either role you are changing lives. Get a big piece of paper and write the pros and cons down for each career path. Put it away. Have a brew and look at it again. Which one gets you excited? Which one makes you want to get up in the morning? Only you can decide. Major decision time. ![](/icons/s/biggrin.gif) |

All i would say is that if you are leaving the public sector for the private sector be aware.
i know people who have done that and been shocked at the way things are done. You would kiss goodbye to sick pay and 7 weeks holiday.
