A seaside town near you! |
I was cooking a chilli tonight and always rinse the rice to get rid of the starch and rinse the kidney beans as I once saw a programme that said the juice from kidney beans is poisonous ... My sister was laughing saying I was being daft...does anyone else do things like this??. |

Kidney beans can be poisonous to parrots, but never heard them being poisonous to humans though.
I won't reheat rice, because I once read that reheated rice is one of the biggest causes of serious food poisoning. |

I think rice is after a couple of days as it goes off quite quickly once cooked, but you would smell it (vile!)
My mum washes chickens...I think it's a waste of water as the heat in the oven will kill any bacteria! |

Tinned kidney beans are fine to eat without soaking. Fresh beans should be soaked over night. I usually rinse boiled rice out with boiling water before serving. Helps fluff up the rice. Cooked rice left overnight, should be heated thoroughly as it can give you a nasty dose of food poisoning. |
