It depends if you want to look like an original style viking or a cartoon film version. Original, go for plaits with leather, a blue dyed long dress, gold bangles. Quite understated and natural. Sort of Celtic look. |

Was on the news programme, "Midlands today" about the vikings cheekychops, and it did say on there they never wore helmets with horns on, so don't know where that came from? Some exhibition on about vikings somewhere in the midlands was mentioned in the programme if you want to check it out?
Failing that, you could just dress up as Loki (the baddie from Marvels Avengers assemble movie), and tell them all you have come to take over the world, lol. |

Horned helmets were a 19th century romantic authors invention.
Viking women wore a lot of jewellery - mostly brooches, armrings, bangles etc. |

Blimey, I didn't know anyone else did LARPs........Sealed knot anyone?
Think Thor but with knockers. Shield Maidens went to war, so you can get away with it if anyone is prissy.
If you can get a Raven, (or any plastic bird and paint it black) that fits in with the Odin theme, they are his bird, after all. Only problem with going down that route is that you can't have eyes.......... |

Yes, it did say on Midlands today about lots of jewellery, they were the bling kings and showed a viking skull with teeth filed and jewels embedded into teeth, so maybe a trip to the dentist cheekychops?

You can have one eye. Odin had one eye put out to get the wisdom of the runes. |

Cheekychops there is a reenactors fair coming up soon in March which is near Coventry I think, you should be able to get reasonably priced costume and jewellry that wI'll pass muster with the most avid Viking fan. Ite attended by anybody who does any kind of reenactment. If you Google the original reenactment market all the details with pics should be on it |

Hi Cheekychops. Couldn't tell you what you need wear but can tell you where to find out.
Contact the Norvic Viking Centre (museum) York. If anyone will be able to tell you the correct dress for a Viking wedding they will.
Hope this will help, and enjoy the wedding! |
