I'd never set foot in Lidl or Aldi until recently. I do a one stop shop but my oh has shown me I've been wasting money. Their fruit and vegetables are very good. Their cleaning stuff is pretty good too.

I like both but Lidl is the most convenient. The only down side is that the freshly baked bread and cakes are just inside the front door and it always smells fantastic

They are one of the fastest growing budget supermarkets so it's probably only a matter of time before they build one near to you. I've seen two built recently - one very close and the other about 30 minutes away.

Your not the only one, mrs went to Aldi or was it lidls , anyway poor quality. Most of the stuff was not eaten. And of dodgey quality

The fish portions. Were absolutely disgusting, just put me off

I like brand names , or at the lowest end m and s own names.

Asda is like the pound shop now with its brand names it might cost a pound, but it's only a 80 p portion.

Totally agree with that; the fruit & veg are excellent quality & value, about 30% cheaper than tesco, etc - & there's an even bigger saving on the non label cleaning products, - makes you wonder how much dish we've been throwing away. - there's even the Lidl version of Lynx at about one third of the price; I'll let you guys know how it's photographic qualities go!!!

more north lincs than mids!

We go to Aldi quite regular. I love their seeded batch loaf. We used both regularly over in Germany while stationed there. Toilet roll, wash powder are both great. We also like the lasagne. Larry picked up a smoothie while there the other day and said it is delicious.

We got an almost full trolley for about £20. Can't beat it.

We've done a shop at Aldi today. We won't go anywhere else as its much cheaper and the fresh fruit and veg is actually a true statement! Unlike a few other supermarkets I can think of...

We have two within ten minutes of us.

Love aldi, their fruit and veg is way better than the big name supermarkets near by and a fraction of the price. Fairly decent (and British!) meat too. You just need to get used to having two shopping lists! One for aldi and one for all the other bits and bobs!

I've been using Lidl for some time and I love it. I got fed up with being conned at my local Sainsbury's with the 2 for 1 and other apparent offers. Never buy wine on offer at Sainsbury's as it's likely to be rubbish they want to offload. Wine displayed at £4.99 which apparently is 50% off the full price of £9.99 would have likely to be initially on sale at £3.99. Sainsbury's use this method to get round the Law on many of its sale items.

Also the fruit in Sainsbury's and Tesco is rubbish. It tastes disgusting and doesn't last. The fruit in Lidl is fantastic and so tasty. The wine and spirits are fantastic value. Apart from all this you can save a fortune.

The big 4 Supermarkets run a cartel. Have you noticed that the price of most items is identical in these Supermarkets.

If you've not tried Aldi or Lidl then you should. I promise you will not be disappointed.

I usually shop in Aldi but have to shop in Waitrose on occasions. Recently I saw a small box of Ferrero Rocher in Aldi (not on special offer) at £2.99. In Waitrose it was £5:00. That is blatant profiteering.
