Kitty nightmare meeting

So after losing our beloved little kitty last week, my daughter sees a little ginger tom she'd like. So off I went yesterday an hour and a half to see him. House bit scruffy as they had quite a few pets, which led to that inevitable pet odour the woman announces that she's just got back from a few days away to find the kitty has an eye infection ; but then produces a half used tube of eye cream for it grrrr. The kitty was advertised at 16 weeks old, but she says actually it's nearer 5 months. This kitty is tiny - can fit on your hand size. But hey I think that my daughter will like him, so I take him albeit at the reduced cost she offered because of his eyes. So off I go - kitty does not like cars and meows very loudly most the way back. I take him straight to our vets to get checked. Vet says, it's no eye infection it's cat flu and dis kitty is no way 16 weeks, more like 8 weeks ! You'll have to quarantine it away from your other cat for 2-3 weeks and like herpes is to humans - you never get rid of cat flu.

Well we don't have the space to quarantine for that time so I phone the woman and tell her I'm bringing him back in the morning. Poor thing had to spend last night in our small downstairs toilet then another hour and a half back to his home. I was dreading getting there as the woman said she'd be out, meaning I'd have to deal with the husband she was leaving and had told me beat her

I already had my answer ready for "come in" when I got there !!

Anyway kitty delivered - she was there to take him back thankfully - but before I left she said "I don't suppose you want another one instead ?" erm no thank you.

We are a one kitty family from now on

It was horrible taking him back, but I felt I'd got to make sure our other one was protected first and foremost. Plus I didn't like the fact she'd lied

Hmm, I think because some people have female animals they think they can successfully breed animals.

We hear a lot about bad dog breeders, some people take great care when breeding animals whilst others are in it purely for the money.

I would be thinking a phone call to the RSPCA might be in order, at the very least they will give her some advice on proper healthcare for the animals she is supposed to be caring for.

People who neglect or abuse their animals are a disgrace to the human race. Makes me VERY angry...just about the only thing that turns me from a nice guy into something you really wouldn't want to meet...

You should have taken the kitten to the PDSA, or an animal shelter, rather than return it to somewhere it wasn't being cared for properly, even though I do understand your having to look out for the welfare of kitty number one firstly.

Yes I would ring straight away, especially if they have lots of pets. But now I want to go and rescue the ginger kitten. But I already have 3 rescue cats

We went to our local rescue centre at the weekend, but it's closed for a few weeks due to a gastroenteritis outbreak

Somewhere in North Norfolk

Poor little kitten

I'd have taken him to Cats' Protection and told them about the others she has.

I can't abide people who mistreat animals. My mum has 4 rescue cats and I have 2.

Call the rspca straight away!! they are irresponsible people.

And you shouldn't ever pay for cats the homes are all full of them and people are giving them away, contact cats protection they always have cats to be re homed.

Another type of Kitty nightmare, a guy has been taken to the local hospital after suffering injuries due to being attacked by a kitty, apparently it didn't like his aftershave…
