"Lets all wear plastic shoes and hemp shirts"
Have you seen seal cubs being clubbed to death so that people can wear fluffy coats as a fashion statement.
I'd give the Inuits a pass but for fashion, just wrong. |

"the only time its ok is people like eskimos where they have to kill the animals and use the fur to survive"
They would also use the whole animal, even if it was to feed their dogs and it has been a way of life for them for many generations. |

I don't agree with wearing fur.
It's not necessary these days and the methods used to obtain the fur are extremely cruel.
Will be interesting to see how this turns out, I had to back away from a similar thread last year!! |

Keeping animals in uninhabitable conditions
Obtaining the fur inhumanly ~ skinning alive that kind of thing.
Killing animals inhumanly
Killing animals for fashion purposes only

Killing for survival be that plants or animals is not killing for fashion.
Leather is a by product of killing for survival so it would be silly to waste it.

Food and clothing are staples
You shouldn't eat or wear anything unless you you are prepared to kill it yourself.
That goes for cute cuddly rabbits
Or locusts |

They also use electrocution for the same reason (not to damage the skin). Also they dont usually say what sort of fur it is. They just say real fur. Could be a cat! for all we know.

Some vegans have allegedly gone blind due to the lack of certain vitamins in the vegan diet… b12 I think. It's not really a healthy option without supplements of some vitamins and minerals. |

"I knew a woman once who claimed to have an antique fur coat made out of monkey fur I wonder if it was complete with fleas I never saw it and didn't want to"
It's not the sort of thing you'd want hanging in the wardrobe, old furs deteriorate without special care. Some people seem to think it's morally fine because it is antique, much in the way that ivory over a certain age is accepted. |

It does make you wonder how we describe the human race as civilised sometimes. |

When I was a kid I used to love going in the army and navy store and I would always want to stoke the fur coats. They felt amazing. I could never understand why my mum always said they were horrible. I do now and wouldn't wear one x |

I think it's safe to say many vegans wouldn't wear leather / wear cosmetics from non ethical source & use certain pharma companies meds but there are definitely vegetarians (lacto ovo) that would.

I understand what you are saying & I think that is wrong too.
My comments were answering the OP's question about why I wouldn't wear fur. |
